Yeah the opportunity to sign him was before he moved to RB.

Although I am a bit intrigued to see where he'll end up. Bayern doesn't want him and theres not another fit for him in the Bundesliga, Madrid just spunked big on striker this summer and want Mbappe. Maybe Chelsea? United? Madrid as a RW?

I still think Piatek is a better option, more mobile/aggressive movement, but I’m starting to come round to the idea of Jose as Plan B, someone as has been said, in the Drogba/Millito/Lukaku mould that Mourinho likes. I think Piatek is perhaps not as physical he is not lightweight or short, but could perform a similar focal role with his workrate.
Piatek would not fill the same role.

Piatek is a straight up goal fiend. He shoots and shoots and shoots. He has about 2 assists since moving to Italy. He would not work in the Milito/Drogba/Lukaku role.

he’d still play centre forward though, and if Jose wants, I will go along with it.

Am I the only one that prefers the look of Jose to Piatek?

I'm with you. Piatek looks like an Inzaghi type. If he's not scoring he ain't doing shit. That's fine for some teams, especially if the player in question is one lethal mofo, and the team is built round said mofo, but for us, and the players we have presently I don't think it's optimum.
Jose seems to have much more to his game and i think that'll be more beneficial to us at the present time. One thing we have is decent runners who go past the forward, all we need is a forward who can hold the ball up and pass it off. Scoring is of course paramount, but I don't mind if one man's banging them in, or it's more of a collective.
Added to that he doesn't seem to be your bog standard clogger. He looks like he has good awareness and a bit of guile with his passing.
The caveat to all that is that I've seen neither play.

Mourinho has always had a no 9 target man for his previous clubs.
Kane can do that role but we need someone else to play that role so we don’t have to completely change our style when kane is not playing.
Piaktek looks/sounds like more a goal poacher type, where Jose seems to fit the type Mourinho usually goes for

Agree. Plus Kane could benefit from playing in a withdrawn role in some games, or we could have 2 x#9s for portions of some games. Just gives us options.

I think it’s been quite obvious since Kane’s injury, that we need a CF.. When the ball is played up top to either Moura, Son or Dele, they can’t hold it up, lose possession and it comes straight back at us. It’s infuriating for me to watch, let alone JM.. Back to his first game, you can see how he wants his formation to work. Davies intelligent positioning at LB, Aurier bombing on, Kane linking the play with Dele, and Son and Moura with the pace either side. With Kane out, and less intelligent/unproven LB players, he’s lost two key points in his system, not to mention the lack of level unaccounted for in Dier.

I know nothing about this guy so I've just of course youtubed him.

I'm happy two see he can shoot with his left foot, which is something I don't understand why all footballers don't do, not sure why some are just happy to just play with their stronger foot and not train their weaker foot at all.

He also seems to have a bloody hard shot on him, quite a few of his goals are absolutely thumped in giving the keepers sod all chance to get to. However I would like to see his shot accuracy when he hits them this hard as I would imagine there would be a fair amount of misses because of it.

He also does have a good strength, which allows him to hold the ball and bring others into play. Hopefully we'll soon have Alli, Son and Moura back playing at their best and they can make those runs off him.

He does look like he'll give defenders a hard time which is something we haven't seen with Harry for quite a while. He used to bully them but for whatever reason it's not something he does too much any more. This guy however looks like he will.

He also appears to be a good header of the ball, which is without doubt an attribute all strikers should be good at.

If he does arrive it'll be interesting to see how he adapts to the PL, hopefully he'll thrive in the physicality of it and we'll get to see someone who isn't afraid to put themselves about and unsettle the opposition.

Does he need to go anywhere right now? Werner is young and RB are doing very well. I don't like the club but if I was Werner, even if I had long term ambitions, I would be in no rush to move.
