that’s a really good post, but...tactical intelligence is not something I’d level at all those.Mourinho has a style of play he wants to implement with us. Low block, quick attacks using direct / long balls, press on immediate transition and then back to a low block. His philosophy has always been that the transitions should occur in opponents half and not yours, as it is mainly transitions that lead to goals. Plus it is easier to tactically foul in the opponents half as you do not concede dangerous set pieces or collect many bookings. Jose needs a physical CF to lead the line to be able to play in that manner. In the past he has used Drogba, Ibrahimovic, Lukaku, Milito, Costa etc. to do this. And Kane can do that (and also create and score!). Jose then wants athletic, goal scoring WFs / AMs who can play tactically and know when to press and when to drop, and will be diligent in their tracking of opponents. In Son, Moura, Dele and Lamela we have tactically intelligent, hard working players. What we don’t have right now is the CF to lead the line in Kane’s absence.
Maybe I’m referring more to their decision making, but I frequently wonder what on earth is going through Son and Lucas’s mind with some of the their attacking choices
