Arsenal fans on twitter and reddit saying "North London is red" because they signed an 18-year old (in a position that we have no urgent need) over us shows how small time they've become.

GFFN needs a ban, their bitterness towards us is staggering.

Love how they don’t question why an “elite” talent would choose to go to a club with such bleak prospects. Their account runners are proper virgin Arsenal fans

People are getting ahead of themselves and writing Arsenal off too soon. Them writing us off is partially how we managed to sneak up on them and overtake them. We must learn from their mistakes
So long as Poch and the club aren't writing them off, it matters not one jot what the fans think or say.

Do people still believe that arsenal have only got a £40M budget?

Emery said they’re after 4 big players. They’re just buying Saliba for £30M, they want Tierney and have bid £25M for him. They want Zaha and bid £40M for him... yes they undervalue everyone but even if they get them for that amount, that’s still £95M plus wages. And Ceballos if he goes there will pick up a few million too.

They’re not in as bad a state as some think they are. I still firmly believe we’ll finish above them etc but they’re not anywhere near as fucked as some think.
Reminds me of last summer when so many talked about how screwed Chelsea was, yet finished above us and won a trophy.

If my thinking is right Arsenal signed a player for more then they originally agreed because of us and they see this as a win?

I agree.. but Saliba is going back on loan so doesn’t really fix anything and absolutely no chance Palace lower the asking price 50% for zaha. Them not being able to sell shit players on big wages will hopefully fuck them

The big picture I guess is that they're signing unfulfilled potential and we have signed one of the biggest midfield talents in the world. The ITK from Grey Fox, Hercules and JJ all seemed like they were very happy with what's coming and I find it hard to believe they'd be happy with only the additions of Sessegnon and Lo Celso if we lose anymore players but we'll see. My concern is the lack of new targets in the media and times arrow marching forward.

Considering the fact that A&C was withholding the information ITKs had about Trippier and Rose, it's entirely possible that things are going on behind closed doors that might be too sensitive to be made public, even if some of our targets are already public. Who knows tho (definitely not me)

Jj, herc, trix, grey fox. All upbeat and positive. This outweighs everything else. 3 weeks, 3 schmeeks. Once the big guns get miserable that’s the time to reach for the razors.

Agreed. For a team that's allegedly a joke they were a gnat's cock away from beating us to 4th last season. If they hadn't lost 5 consecutive away games or something stupid we'd be in a completely different situation right now: no Ndombele, Eriksen 100% gone, less money to spend, etc etc.

Thankfully, regardless of their signings, I think the loss of Ramsey and most likely Koscielny will take a huge toll on them next season. They'll have to spend very big indeed to fill those holes and even with Tierney, Ceballos, Saliba (who looks great but won't be there for another year) etc I think they'll still really struggle.

Not to doubt any of them, but they (maybe not JJ or Trix) were positive the previous couple windows as well. I don’t think it’s them being wrong, I think it’s the club deluding itself as to its ability to close deals in a timely manner. We could easily leave it too late, and have numerous times.

Not to be a pessimistic pussy, of course. I reckon we’ll get Sessegnon in and maybe Lo Celso

Let's be honest at Arsenal he's been promised that he's the man they will build around at the back. At Spurs he has been told he trains to prove himself and will compete with Sanchez and Foyth long term, as well as Vertonghen again after he signs an extension.

If he's been seduced by the feeling of being a big fish in a small pond compared with a YOU player looking to nudge in ahead of an already competitive area of the pitch that's up to him. Nobody with a neutral look at things based on current status, current results, current quality or current direction would choose them over us unless there was a unique angle such as a fast track to being a big player or an affection for the club based on support or childhood heroes. Arsenal are still one of the biggest supported clubs in France, we are still in a very early phase of evolving on all fronts whereby we can truly surpass them.

We are doing great and are great but we have a long way to go. 3.6m twitter followers compared to their 14.6m followers shows you how far we have to go and ultimately how far they've let themselves fall away.

Fast track to a club with over 14m twitter followers or a truly competitive uphill task at a team with 3.6m? I know they are only Twitter figures etc but it's a clear indication of the growth needed and required for our brand to be as respected overseas still. We are still in the eyes of many the smaller club.
