Or maybe if he runs his contract down because of the lack of transfer fee he can get a much larger signing on fee. Either way in his case unlike Eriksen I’d take this situation.

On the contrary to be fair, I think if Toby is gonna run down the last year of his contract here, I would use him more to nurture and mentor the young CB, whether that be Foyth or Saliba or someone else, whilst Dav and Verts start together
I think we spent an awful lot of money on Sanchez, coming into his 3rd season now, needs to be starting, and next to Vertonghen would be a great pairing.
Everyone’s criticism of Dav regarding errors etc, for me, comes purely down to a lack of a run of games, which when he has, has looked fantastic!

There are times that he has looked very good and others where he’s looked a little erratic. Your point about a run of games is a fair one though.
The thing that slightly bothers me though is that even when he has looked good, he does not look comfortable on the ball. A surprise considering he cane from the Ajax academy, but he really doesn’t look comfortable when being closed down. Makes me quite nervous actually.
That is a big part of the way Poch wants us to play out from the back and another reason why Toby and Verts are so good together.

he didn't come from the ajax academy and scares the shit out of me. let's hope he pushes on this season, paid a lot for him and expectations are, quite rightly, high.

Haha my favourite from this account was under the Spurs Official tweet announcing the U23 team, he replied with "I can confirm this is the team."
I'm not sure why anyone gets annoyed by it tbh. He's clearly just taking the piss and some of it is quite funny.
