The day Everton spend £70m on one player I’ll eat a shoe. Their entire club is valued around 280m. They’re gonna spend one quarter of that on Wilfried Zaha? Bollocks.

They did sign Sigurdsson for a pretty absurd fee.

maybe because of the money they received from the Lukaku sale last summer. but they don't have another Lukaku to get huge money this summer.
Maybe not, and i don't personally think they'd spend that amount on zaha, but they do have a goalkeeper who's value keeps rising with each passing England game.

Everton enter race to sign Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha as Marco Silva looks to make his first signing

Everton will however have to stave off competition for Zaha, with Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham both understood to hold an interest in the player.

Spurs have been chasing Zaha for a considerable amount of time and are still monitoring his situation despite last week being told they will have to bid in the region of £70million to sign him.

The north London club are looking at alternative options but may test Palace's resolve with a lower offer after Everton joined the race for the winger.

This whole thing is surely made up as that just doesn't sound like us at all :cautious:.

BREAKING NEWS
Borussia Dortmund are interested in Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha.
Dortmund are expected to follow up that interest with an offer once the deal to take Andriy Yarmolenko to West Ham United is finalised.
Zaha signed a five-year contract at Selhurst Park in May 2017.

Doubt that Dortmund will be able to afford the price on his head...having said that, wouldn't be surprised at all if Palace accepted a lower offer from a team outside of England

I'd be surprised if Zaha would move to Germany. Doesn't he really love being in London? Not sure where I heard that but it's in my head from somewhere.

We baulked at paying £40m for Zaha last summer yet now we’re going to pay £70m for him? no chance. Even with today’s inflated prices he’s still worth nowhere near £70m.

My colleague is a Palace fan who keeps up with their news (and forums etc...) and he couldn't be more chilled about Zaha staying. Guessing there is nothing their end suggesting he wants out.

It would be pretty amusing if we did end up nicking him after all that. I do have a soft spot for Palace because of him though. Decent fan unlike the guy that supports Liverpool here (at my work)...

What's worrying is we're backing off from paying the asking prices for key targets as they're too expensive, yet every transfer window the prices are going up!

I can guarantee you that Dortmund would never pay 70m ... not even 50m for one single player

So if Palace really wants 70m that would only leave a handful of clubs that could afford it...and i think not one of them will actually do it imo

In which case they get to keep their star man. They aren't trying to sell him as far as I'm aware and the price tag is purposefully to put other clubs off

Dortmund selling Pulisic, spending funds on Zaha?
No they've sold Yarmolenko, are probs gonna sell Schurrle and also have money left over from the Dembele sale I assume.

They also sold Aubameyang for upwards of £50m in January on top of all that so shouldn't be short of a few bob

That's why it make sense for him to stay in London but go to a bigger club. I reckon either the chavs or us if he goes. Arse don't even have look in. Like that kid in the playground that stinks of piss that everyone wants to avoid.
