Going back to this, Levy was at the game last night so maybe a meeting with Palace/Zaha's people is the first thing on his agenda when he returns?

He'll be pleased N'Koudou got a couple of goals on tour, no doubt he'll be dangling him as bait.

He'd have nowhere near the impact Zaha has for them but wouldn't be the worst piece of business for Palace. N'Koudou is at least a wide player who could be developed and will offer some squad cover if they don't have a replacement planned already - unlikely as that would be.

Palace hold all the cards - I can't see Levy swallowing his pride and paying their asking price.

Would love to be proved wrong though.

My mate says Jeff Schlupp is their first choice LM - he'd probably start.

Thanks. Very interesting.

I think it's possible both teams have agreed a fee of £60m (which I assume is their asking price), but not made official bids. Now it's down to the break down of the fee (Chelsea going p/ex, us add-ons) and how Palace get on with replacements.

Seems to back up us being the preferred destination, but him not being willing to force weakens our hand. Chelsea not including RLC is big news as that would be their ace in the hole.

It certainly doesn't sound like Palace are ruling it out.

It only weakens our hand if levy starts messing around ..... as people have said on the ITK thread parrish will run the negotiations on this one

Whatever is going on, it sounds like a deal is there to be done if we are serious.

As has been said since the start of the window, time for us to shit or get off of the pot.

Thats really weird... imagine being a Journalist and thinking about players Tottenham would want to offload...

not mentioning Janssen, GKN, Sissoko or Llorente but instead Lucas Moura who was signed 6 Months ago and had a cracking pre season is just weird

I still can't help but feel Poch did not particularly want Moura in the last window and does not trust him. Hopefully he just needs a full pre-season and to fully learn Poch's pressing patterns, and Poch will let him have a decent run in the first team with Son missing the first three games. I really rate Moura highly - he's quick, skilful, unselfish, puts his foot in and is pretty awesome in the air too for a little 'un. He also appears to be having a decent pre-season which means he should be ready from the first game.

This.

No more playing around - either pay Palace's asking price or move on to other targets.

Seems to all link in with the ITK thread that parish will run the negotiations and levy will have to play ball if we want him

We were never going to get him cheap EVER! everyone knows that you have to pay top dollar for players like this in todays market. No one is going to blink when it comes to deals for Zaha, Martial, Grealish etc. Not only is it stopping us from signing the players we need to compete but it also seems with recent comments from Donna and Poch that it may be creating tension within the club or has the potential to.. Its an all round Shower of Sh1te at the minute. its clear now that this isnt going to conclude soon and you have to feel that its going to effect any other deals, purely by the time constraints we are now under..

has been a lot of talk that the deal is there to happen for us if we want it and agreed never going to get him on the cheap...
If poch is starting to create tension then i do not blame him if he was promised targets and he is not getting them, lets face it he would of checked with Levy when ZZ left madrid that he was getting the players he wanted or at least some of them otherwise he would of been off.

It does make you wonder why the powers that be don't just make the Transfer Window 12 hours long

Like the trading floor of a stock exchange

The journalist is a gooner though, not sure if that explains it!

Palace Signing Ayew, Meyer, Kouyate amongst rumours about Antonio, Jeffrey Bruma, Danny Ings and Josef De Souza. They spending money from Selling Zaha?

I tend to think so. No Palace fan would believe you though!

Reading the palace forum re this.... just makes you want to sign him even more. They think he should be aiming higher than spurs and that we would not be able to tempt him away.

They could be right, although I hope and believe they aren’t.

I think a number of things will conclude when Poch and Levy return from the US trip. I expect things to happen.

Mate, I get the same from Villa fans about Grealish. These fans will be hurting. Their best players are needing to make the next step up. Of course I am a touched bias with Spurs, but really, think about it. THE ideal manager for them, THE ideal stage, playing alongside some of THE best players in the country AND involved in ALL top tier competitions. Not to mention the world class training facilities and what will turn out to be the most advanced stadium in the land. They know this, we know this. They just don't want to admit it.
