Meeting between the clubs is interesting.

The bit after seemed opinion to be fair.

Herc and Grey Fox didn't shoot down the Zaha rumours earlier which suggests we are still in for him. Breezer suggested it never went away too

I'm hoping Levy feels like he has to push this one through for Poch.

Feel exactly the same. I have no problem with signing Zaha, although I would prefer Martial as he is more adept playing as a striker and is only 22 with huge potential IMO. I do think Zaha is a tricky player and will no doubt add another attacking option. But I think Moura might well bring a lot of what Zaha can do this season. A wide forward is a sexy purches but I think the route of our attacking problems start at CM and until we upgrade in that position we won’t be able to fully unlock the potential of our attacking play regardless of who we have further up the pitch. Fact is, we get Zaha and he will be rotating with Son, Lamela, Moura and maybe Dele, we buy a high qulity CM and he would be a guratied starter majority of the time.

As said, have no issues with getting Zaha and I will be very intrested to see what he brings to the team if we get him. But as you say, I don’t think our problem is in the WF department.

I certainly agree with you about a CM and have been banging that drum ever since Modric left but whilst most weeks we are fine in attacking areas, when I think back to the painful cup semi final defeat, as soon as we went 2 1 down we struggled and there was no game changing attacking talent on the bench to save us. It’s in this regard, the big matches, getting over the line to win trophies that I see the ambition in the extra wing forward purchase.
We still need CM’s desperately though.

We are miles behind them in the creativity department.

We are also talking about a player that’s going to take a space that Son predominantly plays and has scored over 35 goals in 2 seasons in the league, has Zaha scored that many in his whole career?

I will back him if he joins like I back any player, but I’m definitely not excited about it, the same as Martial. Think the only thing I have agreed with you this whole window is we should be signing a quality CM.

Yes but Son is going to the Asian games and then the Asian Cup in January. He is going to miss a third of the season.

What happens if Kane gets injured while Som is away? Last season showed that we can't rely on Llorente as a back up to Kane.

You don't think Son and Zaha will play together? LW and RW respectively?

Here's a load of bollocks that's week old

According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha could become Tottenham Hotspur’s first summer signing this week.

Palace want £60 million for the winger, according to The Sun, but Spurs are hopeful of doing a deal for him.

Mauricio Pochettino has been a long-term admirer of Zaha, and a transfer could reportedly be completed within the very near future.

If Zaha does arrive at Spurs it would finally be a statement of intent, after what has been a slow summer so far.

Tottenham are yet to make a signing, after missing out on a number of their targets.

But that’s the Daily Fail:whistle:

Apparently Son is due to miss roughly 2 games due to the Asia games, I think I saw mentioned earlier, and will miss the 1st 2 games of the Asia cup. So he won’t miss a 3rd. I still don’t think Zaha is clinical enough and that’s against teams that don’t sit back. It’s great having pace and trickery but he isn’t used to doing it against teams that try and put a brick wall in front of their keeper

Not sure, I always feel Son is less effective on the right, even if he floats there occasionally, and putting Zaha on the right means your then playing him as a winger, not something Pochettino usually plays.

Hope I’m wrong and hope he has a wonderful career with us

Ah, I now see where you're coming from... 3-4-3

I was hoping we would revert to the 4-2-3-1 we ran for the second half of last year. Three of Son, Eriksen, Alli, Moura and Zaha behind Kane gets me quite excited. Even 4-3-3 with Eriksen or Alli dropping into the CM three would be lovely.

Three at the back can be saved for the big games away from home.

Assuming he does sign for us of course!

From Gary Jacobs' transfer Roundup column in The Times today. The core of the piece is regarding his belief we are closing in on the signing of Grealish in a £20m deal so maybe his info is behind the times or maybe he has a source different to our ITKs. Cheers to @AJW for sharing in the Grealish thread so pop over and give him a like too.

Crystal Palace are close to deals for three new players, including the striker Jordan Ayew and are confident that they have won the battle to keep Wilfried Zaha. Ayew is expected to move from Swansea City in a swap deal involving Jaïro Riedewald. Ayew, 26, scored seven league goals last season. Palace are hoping to complete deals for the free agent Max Meyer and West Ham United’s Cheikhou Kouyaté, both midfielders, who will help to ease the disappointment of being unable to sign Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek or extend his loan deal.

We keep hearing from the ITK's the Zaha pursuit is still alive and I don't doubt that is the case. The problem has and always will be the fee, but as we refuse to pay market rate I can't see any way it will happen.

Havent people in the ITK thread say that us and chelsea had already agreed a fee but he wants us?

People keep saying this but it just isn't true.

Sanchez - £42m
Lucas - £25m
Aurier - £22m
Llorente - £13m
Sissoko - £30m
Janssen - £20m
Son - £27m
Davies - £11m
Soldado - £30m
Lamela - £30m
Paulinho - £18m

These are all signings in the last 5 years that were paid either at or above the current market rate. People just seem to think that the market rate should be whatever price Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool want to over pay for their players.
