Well this deal seems dead now. We probably weren't willing to meet his fee.

That's really disappointing if that's the case. I was originally against the signing of Zaha but after paying more attention to him during the second half of the season I can see why Poch would be keen.

The last bit is the most important. If Poch is adamant that he sees Zaha as a major addition to the squad it's really disappointing if that inflated fee is what is stopping us. He's a 35 million pound player in my book. If we are flinching at 35-40m after signing Sissoko for 30m then I can't quite get my head around that.

Of course we could still sign him but it does look as though our interest has diminished. They maybe asking for 60m plus or something ridiculous.

I personally rate Zaha. Think he would have been a very good addition to the squad. However, the fact he has signed this deal now, makes me believe we have other targets

The fact zaha signed must mean palace know new manager .hard to see Gary monk leaving Leeds unless he's got a great offer .put 2+2 together decided 2/1 new manager is worth few quid

You sound surprised but we have this issue every year with the club's valuation miles apart from any other club, although strangely when we are selling it's the opposite.
As you know often our window drags on until the last week or days to complete deals, and I don't expect different this time around.

Suggestion was that we lost interest after he transferred allegiance to Ivory Coast - meaning he'd miss part of the season regularly for the ACN.

Palace reportedly offered him £110k pw as well which would rule us out

It's still a risk if you sign a player and he isn't performing no matter his cost.
Exactly. We don't want a squad with players who'll never play or have potential of playing.

Poch has bought a few versatile players so their game time is increased.

We want the whole squad to feel part of the playing team, money isn't the only factor here.

Zaha's comments basically amount to, 'Thanks for the payrise'.

He's definitely going to stay there though, I'd imagine. Oh well.

I don't think Zaha is good enough to warrant a £30m price tag and £110k per week wages

He looks good at times but not often enough for me

I am sure we can do better

Well that's one potential target knocked on the head. I liked the idea of signing him but onwards and upwards.
