Sell Lucas Moura. :banghead: He is one of Mourinho's favourites. Yeah, that's going to happen.
Favourites can change......especially if they don't deliver on the pitch. Lucas is on a run of not scoring in the league for 3 months. He has 3 assists in more than 2 years. Jose does like him, but will be looking for a better return.

Out:

Vorm,KWP, Foyth, Jan, CCV, Rose. I think we'll fail to sell Sissoko and Lamela because they will refuse to leave.

In:

Willian, Osimhen, Soumare (his price will probably tank because he doesn't play anymore), Eze, Godfrey, maybe more if we get rid of Sissoko and Lamela. We always leave at least one position lacking and It could be FB on both sides. Maybe we bring another player from Eredivisie instead of Soumare and Godfrey.

I was debating whether he is playing at his best for the time being, I was debating whether he will be sold, which he won't be (unless it is because some more prestigious team comes in for him). Sticking to the thread title, Mourinho will not be wanting to sell him.

:cautious: 3 of 4 of the worst defence in the league?

Calssic Spurs - it's happening, then... :ROFLMAO:

What’s that got to do with anything? They’re 3 of the most highly thought of and sought after young players in the EPL. Norwich are going down but they’re far from a poor side... we struggled against them in all 3 encounters this season.

Only Kane, Lo Celso, Son, Alli, Lloris, Toby, Winks, Skipp, Sissoko, Davies, Fernandes and Bergwyn are safe- even if a few of them shouldn’t be

In fairness, Norwich are at the bottom because they stick absolutely to their style of football and haven't got any kind of pragmatic backup plan. When it has all clicked for Norwich they've been great to watch, beaten Man City and a few others, at home and it's not because their defence is crap.

Godfrey, Aarons and Lewis all look more than capable at Prem level. I was very impressed with Godfrey in the cup in midweek and Aarons was their best player in the league game at our ground.

Potential Squad in Summer of 2020 with players removed that I think might be sold/released:

GK: Hugo Lloris | Paulo Gazzaniga | Youth or Veteran GK
RB: NEED | Serge Aurier
CB: Toby Alderweireld | Eric Dier | Davison Sanchez | Japhet Tanganga | NEED
LB: NEED | Ben Davies
DM: NEED | Oliver Skipp
CM: Tanguy Ndombele | Giovanni Lo Celso | Gedson | Harry Winks
AM: Dele Alli | Erik Lamela
WF: Steven Bergwijn | Heung-Min Son | Lucas Moura | Ryan Sessegnon
CF: Harry Kane | NEED | Troy Parrott

Sold: KWP, Rose, Foyth and maybe Sissoko.
Released: Vorm, Vertonghen

Tried to be realistic and that leaves us with a genuine need at RB, LB, CB, DM and CF.

It really depends though in how Jose views Sessegnon. I'd also argue that 2 DMs would make sense. Possibly an older, more experienced DM that could be signed on a free (e.g. Matuidi, Matic) or for a nominal fee would help any younger, more expensive signing in that area as well as mentoring Skipp.

I personally don't think 5 new players in is unrealistic, even if we don't make CL. In truth it will just determine how much we can spend and therefore the caliber of those targets. However, just because we don't spend big, doesn't mean we can't find real quality. Bergwijn was pretty cheap in today's market and he's already shown he can cut it in Prem. He'll also be far more valuable next season.

We've been heavily linked with Osimhen by multiple ITK's. I watched a bit of him last night for Lille and he's definitely the kind of player we need as the heir to Harry Kane. Tall, strong, athletic. He could certainly play alongside Harry as well. Troy can then develop and get more and more opportunities as the season goes on in domestic cups etc.

I'd also argue that the free agent market will look better this summer than it has for many years. Willian, for example, has spoken fondly of Mourinho and would be a useful, experienced player that could come in to bolster the squad. Ryan Fraser is another useful winger that could be a good addition. Kurzawa and Meunier could be good free options at either LB and RB respectively.

I think a Juve squad building model is probably the way to go. Concentrate on a couple of key Bosman signings each summer and then spend your transfer fees on young talent to complement it. Even if the Bosmans don’t work out you can usually sell them and make your money back like they’re gonna do with Emre Can.

Verts (release)
Rose (permanent)
KWP
Vorm (release)

Buy:
Upamecano
Bogle

Soumare/Zakaria
Osimhen

No idea what Jose/Levy will do tho.

The biggest issue for me is that our squad lacks pace, power and players who are comfortable on the ball. I would like to see us do the following:

SELL Aurier (Walking mistake); BUY Dias/Pereira
SELL Davies (a plodder without the requisite quality or dynamism); BUY Hernandez
SELL Skipp (Great attitude, not enough quality); BUY Zakaria/Soumare
SELL Vertonghen (Bless him, but he's no longer good enough) BUY Kabasele
SELL Dier (Way too slow and cumbersome for a top side) BUY Issa Diop
SELL Moura (As I said previously, great attitude but has the IQ of a sea urchin); BUY Osimhen
SELL Sissoko (Great at a couple of things, not very good on the ball); BUY Doucore

There are other areas to address, but this would be the place Id start in summer

Way too much turnover. Whilst I agree that we could/should look to sell Serge and Davies, we'd then likely be looking at having to add FOUR fullbacks, 2 on each side, and that's just not realistic.

We're going to have to take a somewhat methodical approach to this. We can't just get rid of 6-8 players and bring in that many. The last time we signed that many players in a window was the summer we sold Bale and we had a DoF back then.

I'm personally hoping we bring in a DoF as soon as the season is over. Luis Campos at Lille, who we've been heavily linked with, would really help us mastermind the squad refresh that we desperately need.

Equally, anyone thinking we're gonna sign Ricardo Pereira from Leicester is kidding themselves. Leicester will be playing CL footy next season, we won't, and he would cost upwards of £60m now I expect. Aarons is far more realistic.
