Those really believe Lucas is at risk of being sold is very strange to comprehend. Maybe, there is a reason behind his name being put forward by those posters. My opinion I just cannot see it myself. Why on earth would JM sell pace, goals, work-rate, good team ethic attitude like Lucas for? I would be beyond shocked if this happens. And he has gone on record about how he rates Lucas, and needing his type of pace etc, and more of the same in his team.
I think it mostly stems from an assumption many are making that ENIC will want to raise funds with a big sale or two given the outlay they've made over the past two windows and the fact that there are still a handful of holes in the squad that need to be filled with new signings.

Of the players in the squad who you could reasonably foresee fetching a decent price, all but a small number are basically indispensable. Lucas fits into a category of players that you could see other clubs willing to shell out big money for, but who probably don't make our best XI when everyone is fit.

Even if we manage to shift the likes of Rose, Wanyama, or Lamela none of them are going to bring in big fees due to age/contracts/injury issues. Vertonghen's contract is up in the summer and looks likely at the moment to leave on a free. Sissoko is on the wrong side of 30 and just had a significant knee injury, so is also fairly unlikely to demand a big price. Dier has been a shadow of his former self ever since the illnesses, so you wonder what clubs would be willing to pay for him. Aurier is erratic and, despite having been transfer listed last summer, didn't bring in any bids that were sufficient for the club to sell. Foyth has very little experience and is notoriously prone to mistakes. You look around the squad and it's hard to see where we'll be able to build up a transfer kitty with sales.

Now if ENIC have reached a point where they're willing to spend without recouping the expenditure with sales then it's all moot. But if not, I think it's understandable why many would view Lucas as a player who we could trade in order to shore up other more pressing areas of need within the squad.

Since everyone else is saying the same names over and over, here's a different one to chew on: Gazzaniga.

Not that I think we'll run him out of town or anything, but it did seem like Lloris was pretty clearly back to first choice almost immediately. If somebody made him an offer to be in the first XI somewhere else I think he would probably jump at the chance and I think we'd let him go, our new coaching team probably has their eye on several young players they'd like to work with, the same way Poch and his team brought in Gazza.

I can see us letting him go as he’s not good enough to be our long term number 1 and he won’t be happy as and when we replace Lloris.

We’ve been linked with a couple of decent young keepers in Onana and a 22 year old Turkish keeper (circa £25m). Given Lloris’ age and increased errors although he is still an outstanding keeper, I can see the club potentially bringing in a new number 1 in the summer but letting them get accustomed to the country, language, league etc like we did when we 1st signed Hugo. This would allow Hugo to remain as number 1 until we’re satisfied that they’ve fully acclimatised. Hugo would then be 34/35 and would naturally be replaced by our new signing.

Agree with all except for Dele and Sessegnon. Dele can be sold if they can find a suitable replacement but I doubt it.

Don't see Sessegnon going out on a loan.

I can pretty much guarantee he'll do some things I wouldn't. For starters, he'll probably keep Dier. After that, he'll probably sell Foyth and possibly Lucas. He'll probably let Sissoko go as well which I'd be OK with only from the perspective that he's worth a bit now but soon won't be. He might let some promising youngsters go too like Skipp and Amos. I'd sooner keep them but I doubt they'll get any chance so they'll probably want out. I'd let Vertonghen and Wanyama go on free transfers so that they might get to keep playing somewhere. I think we should keep Aurier (looks for tin hat).

I don’t think the clear out is going to be quite as sweeping as some are suggesting.

Vorm’s short term contract will elapse and won’t be renewed.

Rose will go, whether that’s by having his loan to Newcastle made permanent if it goes well, or to the first side to offer anything (not sure how long he has left on his contract?)

Wanyama may simply have to be released or made available at quite a low price. It’s a real shame how things have worked out with injuries for him.

With KWP it will depend on how his loan goes. If he does well enough he may convince Jose he has a place here.

For Sissoko, I wonder if his value as a utility man and squad player may outweigh the monetary value he could command. He may want to move on, mind you, if he sees himself as being too far down the pecking order.

Unless a reasonably sizeable offer comes in for him I expect Dier will stay.

I certainly don’t think there will be any plans to sell Alli.

Rose’s contract ends in 2021.

I don't think Sissoko is going anywhere. He is making really good money, seems to be a key locker room guy (hard to come by), fans have started to love him. Most importantly as stated a couple of posts up he is one of the better utility players out there and I don't see mourinho selling him when he could play RM, CM, DM, RB (maybe)

Sissoko would only go for a good offer I'd imagine. He will be Mourinho's Fallaini. Bring him on to relieve pressure and see out games with his driving runs to the corner flag.

I'd imagine next window we'll see Jan, Rose, KWP, Wanyama, Vorm and maybe Lamela go which would be a shame. Depending on how well we move others out there are others like Dier that could go and maybe Foyth depending on Mourinho's desire to coach him. I'd imagine Mourinho will want to sign some defenders at the very least a RB so we'll need to generate some serious cash to strengthen all the areas we need. The above names will only likely generate 30-40m so you'd expect someone like Dier that most Everton type teams would want getting sold for 30-40 based on previous exploits and future potential.

We’ve had ITK that Sissoko is available for transfer. JM has said he’s not a CM which leaves the more attacking positions. He’s nowhere near good to play either side of Kane and given our existing options he’s a squad player at best. With us linked with Soumayre and having signed Fernandes on loan with an option to buy I can see Sissoko leaving in the summer. Also bear in mind we’ve reportedly got a deal lined up for Eze and favourites to sign Osimhen (striker/wide forward).

Ndombele, Soumayre? Fernandes
Lo Celso, Winks, Eze? Skipp

no room for Sissoko in the middle.

Son, Bergwijn, Moura, Sessegnon, Lamela, Clarke? Osimhen?

no room for Sissoko out wide.

Dont see Clarke here next season unless he cracks QPR’s first XI and lights it up. He’s got time to do so but before you know it, that time will have run out. More likely to be another loan for him to the Championship at the moment.

I expect him to go out on loan also. I just don’t see where Sissoko fits into our squad when you take into account the signings of Fernandes and Bergwijn and our proposed intention to buy a DM, Eze and potentially Osimhen.

Can't see Lucas leaving, he signed a new contract a few months ago.

Wanyama, Dier, Rose, Vertonghen, Sissoko I think will be gone.
Vertonghen's the one that'll break my heart the most. I hope he can still be part of the club in some capacity.
