In two minds with Dele. This might sound silly but we have to go all in or all out with him imo.

That's try to build the team around him by not leaving the squad short in attacking areas allowing him to play his best role every week. There's every chance a settled team around him again could bring him back into long term consistency.

If we can't or don't want to do that then we might as well try to get as much as we can for him because the situation he's in now is good for nobody.

How much money is reasonable to think we need to make the changes needed to get us back on song? £100m + anything from player sales?

His regression from a couple of years ago is quite alarming - even taking into account the team’s overall slump in form. In addition, his position of 2nd striker / peripheral no. 10 is slightly old fashioned now.

I want him to turn it around and prove the doubters wrong (me included) but if a decent offer comes in for him in the summer we should definitely consider it.

I understand why fans want to sell him because as you said his position is hard to fit in especially for the return we're getting but realistically I can't see us getting an offer which would justify letting him go.

Transfermkt has the following values for players I think could shape us up very well (fees clearly won't be this, it's just used as a guideline on their apparent values)

Max Aarons - £13.5m
Ruben Dias - £34.2m
Denis Zakaria - £40.5m
Eberechi Eze - £9m
Jonathan David - £18m

£115.2m

If we look at the ones who might leave, based on their apparent market value (I know it fluctuates with demand regarding ins and outs, it's just a quick analysis)

Vorm - free
Walker-Peters - £9m
Vertonghen - free
Foyth - £13.5m
Rose - £18m
Wanyama - free
Dier - £27m
Lamela - £19.8m

£87.3m

Ideally I would rather keep Dier and Lamela so take those off of the total value of outs and it comes to £40.5m

I think we need to look at a £100m + outgoing money to get the squad up to scratch. That leaves us £74.7m spent without price fluctuations. Those prices will easily get hiked up to a minimum of an extra £25.3m but then again we will sell Walker-Peters and Foyth higher than their values...Rose not so much.

Think Transfermkt have seriously undervalued those players. Reckon you need at minimum double them all

I think there's a fair few he'd be looking to move on...

Dier (becoming clear he doesn't fancy him in the side and with his contract running down, can only see one outcome)
Aurier (not reliable enough especially for a manager like Mourinho who's big on defensive discipline. Think the emergence of Tanganga accelerates his departure)
Vertonghen (age has caught up with him)
Wanyama (injuries have finished him)
Winks (Not convinced Mourinho particularly rates him but kind of forced to play him in the current situation. Think he is too lightweight to be a Mourinho type player and doesn't particularly excel in any one area to make up for that weakness)

I think the likes of Davies, Lamela and Sissoko are players Mourinho won't mind keeping as squad players however if a decent bid comes in for any of them, not sure he'd be overly fussed as none will be integral in his system imo. All 3 are honest pro's who give 100% on the pitch but for me fall short for one reason or another. Think Foyth will go out on loan.

Probably unlikely he is sold, but I am beginning to wonder about Dele and where he exactly fits into a Mourinho team, especially if he switches to a 433. Kane and Son would take 2 of the positions and really think Bergwijn takes the other as he is more of a well rounded player than Moura imo. Where that leaves Dele, who knows.
After his comments on being a CB i'd keep Dier now to use him there. He's probably our second best option there after Sanchez with Toby and Verts showing alarming decline.

I think Aarons will probably cost around £25m, possibly £30m, Zakaria I don't think will be much more than £45m, Ruben Dias roughly the same from what I can tell, Eze maybe £15m, Jonathan David £25m.

You're looking at £155m on incomings so it seems inevitable if we want a window that resembles something like that, that we have to sell 1-2 that maybe we don't want to sell.

KWP
Foyth
Davies
Sanchez

Lamela

DO NOT BUY GEDSON WHEN ITS TIME.

We are going to continue to go backwards if we do not make the right move and "Improve" this squad,
