Who else do we need?

Now our biggest flaw has been (sort of) fixed, what else do we need?

Personally if we're looking for positions I'd go for maybe a centre back (if we get rid of Bassong). I know in the long term it's not something we need with Khumalo, Kaboul and Caulker but could be something we use with Dawson as Gallas/King are rather injury prone.

Central midfield wise, someone like Diarra could be good as long as they don't halt Sandro's development or keep Hudd out for too long - and if we get rid of Jenas/Palacios. Diarra'd do just fine here.

A problem we could have would be on the wing as Lennon is good, but lacks something - someone like Christian Eriksen or Marko Marin would be great competition/replacement for him, and in the long term a replacement for Modric.

However, I still think we have a problem in attack. Adebayor's class, but someone else might be needed. Be it a backup striker like Ruiz or Demba Cisse or that heavy gun like Rossi.

Priority wise: Attacking midfielder - Forward - Defender - Midfielder.

My three choices for each:
CB: Coates (10m) | Cahill (14m) | Samba (10m)
MC: Diarra (12m) | Parker (5m) | Barton (£0)
AM: Eriksen (18m) | Hazard (20m) | Marin (18m)
FW: Rossi/Llorente (35m) | Ruiz (14m) | Cisse (8m)

Title, what else do we need?

Cahill
Diarra
Huntelaar

Don't think we need another attacking midfielder, we have Modric, VDV, Kranjcar, Pienaar, Lennon, Bale, Townsend, then also Giovani who has not gone yet.

Still need strikers and goals. Adebayor might score 15 goals but thats still not enough.

Need a CB - Man Utd game has shown that without Gallas we are in big trouble against better sides. Neither Daws nor Kaboul have enough positional sense to recover.

I'm really coming round to the idea that are centrebacks aren't good enough.

This. We really need another striker...although I think Defoe will do a lot better if playing alongside Adebayor.

Yep we need another striker, although whenever I think about it I can never envisage Harry selling either Crouchy or Defoe, so IMO it wont happen.

No idea if this Iago will get anywhere near the first team, so I think another wide player is needed, one that can cut inside and offer a different sort of threat to Lennon and Bale, and allow us to be more flexible with the formation. Hazard/Marin are unrealistic, Xherdan Shaqiri would be my choice.

Centre mid - Diarra hopefully gets sorted out.
Wouldnt mind another creative player, especially with Hudd looking shaky. Banega would be awesome

I also think we need a centre back, although I'm not convinced Cahill is better than what we currently have, no other suggestions of who we could realistically bring in.

If our centrebacks are Gallas and Kaboul, then yes they are good enough.

As soon as you throw Dawson or Corluka or even Huddlestone in to that position, then no they are not good enough. We took on Gallas to (presumably) replace King, but who replaced Woody? Another quality CB definitely needed.

Did anything come of the talk about Tasci?

I'm happy that we at least have Adebayor in the bag. I wasn't thinking that way at the start of the window, but put him in our side and we at least appear to have a threatening side.

The pressure is off for other signings, which hopefully means we can pull one or two out of the bag (but if we don't we should still be fine). Diarra I expect to be done, Cahill would be good and some sort of winger/forward surprise name (who we should have a tonne of money to throw at so let's sign someone very special).

and Modric to grow up and face the fact that he's staying here for one more year.

Like the shout re Shaqiri, from the U21's I also liked Alcantara. Don't think either are serious options though... shame

I'd like to see a composed centre back to come in to replace Bassong who seems to have completely lost his way. I also think Dawson is much better when he's alongside someone with a better footballing brain (i.e. a Gallas or a King). Cahill would fit the bill and I've been really impressed with him this year.

I think we need another defensive minded midfielder if Palacios is to leave. The United game showed we look very brittle without Sandro and I think Diarra would plug this gap and also allow us to play the two together if necessary.

We also need another striker. Pav looks hopeless, Defoe doesn't seem to be able to play with VdV and although I like Crouchie everyone knows his limitations. If Adebayor was to get injured we'd be right back to square one so someone else is needed. Leandro seems the obvious choice but there are surely plenty of strikers out there who are better than what we've got.

Finally I'd like to see a more technical wide player. Lennon and Bale are great at using their pace, but if teams drop deep to defend against that pace Lennon in particular can struggle. Also having someone who can get a few goals would be useful. Marin has been mentioned and to be honest I'm not sure who other than that I'd go for. It may be the case that kranjcar fills that role well enough and I've been impressed with his start to the season so this is probably a 'want' rather than a 'need'.

So something along the lines of Cahill, Diarra, Leandro would be excellent. can't see us spending that sort of money though.

If we got:

Diarra
Cahill
Damiao
Marin

We'd finish top 4. So we need them!

Another striker, on the condition we shift 2 of Crouch, Defoe and Pav. If we can get Leandro in that'd be ideal.
GFTS or similar, some competition for Bale and Lennon.
Another CB, on the condition we shift Bassong.
