Ajax would suit us in that they play open football. Atletico probably worst nightmare. But anything can happen in a cup competition. In reality we won the Dortmund tie in the last 10 mins at Wembley. We’ve shown on our day we can pull out crazy wins. Just need 2 more big performances and 2 more professional performances and we could in a CL final, madness lol.

Ranked from best to worst draw, assuming PSG and Atletico are through after the results in the first leg:

Porto
Ajax
Roma
Lyon
Bayern
PSG
Liverpool
Barca
City
Atletico

Ajax would be great because of the affinity the clubs seem to have with each other

It’s this, and the fact that they are an open, slightly naive team who I think we could take advantage of, and our ex-Ajax players will be extra motivated as players always are against former teams. All in all, it’s an intoxicating prospect.

We’ll obviously get City though...

Don’t worry I’ll d’oh myself ...

Yeah I was thinking of the final in my head - I’m kinda jumping the gun just a tad aren’t I ??
Sounds like you need a couple of nights in Amsterdam, it won't clear your head but it'll stop you worrying about it.:)

I wish I’d known about the Spurs/ Ajax affinity when me & a couple mates got into quite a pickle with a group of them in a club in Ibiza one time in the late 90’s. :cautious:Could have been most helpful

Always found wishing for certain ties etc. only leads to disappointment & anyway at this stage they're all pretty tough. I mean look at Ajax, I'm sure RM thought of good last 8 here we come, especially after they were 2-1 from the 1st leg & looked what happened. It's all on the day or two days in the case of these ties & who's available to play, so whoever we get it's going to be a difficult tie.

Ajax.. because with 4 former Ajax players on our books and VDV a club legend for both teams, that's just about the only time that the half-and-half scarves are ever acceptable..

We lost to Burnley and beat Dortmund

Does it really matter who we play? probably, but you know what i mean.

Nothing to lose at this stage, and hopefully playing in our new stadium makes us dangerous.

Anyone any idea how much we will have earned for reaching the Qtr finals?...

The amount of ex Ajax players between us and currently would make it a good tie, our boys would want to beat them for sure.. And some of their current team would want to show how good they could be.. would be a very interesting tie
