i don't see us moving away from 4231 any time soon but it seems like we have a different combination behind Soldado every week, of course some games call for different players but primarily which three would you choose when all are fit?

for me it would be lennon, lamela and eriksen. i'd consider them to probably be our three most selfless options which is what we need if soldado's ever going to start racking up the goals. think it has a nice combo of pace and guile, whilst the latter two in particular should be able to get amongst the goals themselves once fully settled. townsend as the first backup option as he offers more of a direct threat and in some tougher games i'd probably drop one for another cm.

eriksen/lamela/chadli, purely because i think they've got the most technical ability & townsend/lennon could be great impact subs

Lamela, Eriksen and with one of Lennon/Chadli providing consistent crosses.

At the moment I'd say stick with who we played today. 3 players who are either more suited to or (in Lennon & Townsend's case) far better versed in the physical nature of the league. Then reintroduce Eriksen on the left side for a while to allow him to get up to speed and Lamela on the right to do the same, but not at the same time.

Lamela and Eriksen are going to be eventually be the mainstays in this side offensively and I guess it depends on form and rotation re Lennon, Townsend, Chadli and Siggy.

Striker is still a situation to resolve though.

If you want counter attacking football with players running at defenders, then lennon townsend.
If you want pass and movement the lamela and erickson.
Depends on what you prefer.
Me, you should know by now, lamela and erickson, i just see them as the future of this club.
Lennon and townsend for me are perfect subs to bring on against tired legs

Lennon has impressed me recently and has started showing some of his old self so he'd be back in mine to provide a natural winger threat. When everyone is fit then this:

Eriksen-Lamela-Lennon

I'd consider Holtby as one of the two CM's for games we should be winning.

At the moment though i'd stick with the 4-3-3 that saw a good performance today, we need some stability and based on their performances Chadli and Lennon don't deserve to be dropped.

Minimal changes for games, set up for the opposition, never 2 inverted wide forwards, always 1 inverted/conventional or 2 conventional.
Lamela i think he will end up playing as the Wide right inverted and also at No.10 depending on opposition.
We actually have a great selection but more care needs to be put into who we are playing against.

Thats exactly what i am looking forward to seeing. Chad left, Eriksen middle and Lamela right, and it would be nice if AVB could give them a run of games so they have a chance to settle.

For me it'd be Lamela right, Eriksen centre and Townsend left. Plenty of alternative options for fixture-dense periods, but this would be my top 3.

But we were more 442 than 4231 today, Paulinho spent most of the match right in touching distance of Soldado. You could argue it was 4411 but I think not, but anyway it wasn't the style of 4231 we've been seeing.
