I wouldn't. I have the ability to judge situations on their merit without being biased towards my football club.

I think it's clear that the only possible solutions are finishing the season or voiding it.

Hopefully option 1 is possible, even behind closed door and provided free to air to the public with a reduction in TV packages offered next year to BT/Sky etc.

I completely agree if you start a competition but don’t finish all the games then no one can be declared a winner, I just think that fact is inescapable.

Im not sure how they are going to restart it and maintain the integrity of this season. The integrity is already compromised I think. Corona was already here before the lock-down, before the league was suspended. We have much more information about it now, but players from sides may have already missed games due to it and not realised. It was already effecting results. If they try to restart (even behind closed doors) if you have players missing games because of it that is effect games/results.

Then say it is behind closed doors you have teams that have played matches with the home support roaring them on, then suddenly you have home teams with no crowd. They are disadvantaged.

The whole thing is already compromised in my IMO, and while unfortunate, it is the result of a worldwide pandemic and the only option is to scrub the season and void it.

Saturday 3pm TV Blackout in UK for matches has been temporarily lifted.
Think this is clear sign that it is the intention to restart season behind closed doors, with all matches being televised
As I said in another post though I don’t believe IMO that respects the integrity of the season, some teams will have played matches with full home support while others empty stadiums. I understand they are looking for a solution, but that’s not a level playing field for all clubs. It could effect results, and therefore the integrity of the league/competition.

While unfortunate and in absence of a return to normality anytime soon the only choice is a void season.

Unless the season restarts on 30th April I can't see anyway other than to void the season. Numerous players are out of contract this summer and they can't be forced to stay. Can't really open the transfer window while the season continues.

At best we could void the domestic and European cups and get all the leagues to just finish their seasons with 2 matches a week.

But I think it most likely that we won't be ready to go again in time to finish the season in a timely manner.

PL and the club statements have said it won't be restarting at the start of May.

And that doesn't matter because they have been apparently been given a deadline of mid-August to finish the current season by UEFA at the meeting last week, with league fixtures taking priority. Worst case we could re-commence season at beginning of July (they will hope to do earlier), 2 games a week and be finished mid-August. And with games held behind closed doors, at training grounds, in sterlilized conditions, with players and support staff isolated from outside world for month or so before it re-commences until it finishes, with no transfer window open at that stage, with players out of contract being offered short-term contracts to stay, they fully intend to do everything they can to finish it, so promotions, relegations can be earnt, and will adjust the calendar for next season accordingly.
It is not ideal, but it is much fairer than just pretending the 29 League, 8 Champions League, League Cup and FA Cup games have not happened, and starting again from scratch ignoring all the money clubs up and down the Leagues have invested with the aims of getting promotion this season, and all the legal battles that would involve.

If a team loses a player who rejects a short term contract, that could then throw a spanner in the works, as would leave that team at an unfair disadvantage.

Too many things can go wrong or needs planned for which will be the downfall of getting this season re started.

There are 9 games to go. I guess it is possible to complete the season in a month if there are no cup games. Play the games in June then have a break for the transfer window and start the next season afresh end of August or beginning of September.

If we can't start in June then for me we definitely need to void the season.

Looks like there be financial sanctions if the season isn't completed.

If Sky act like a bunch of asses I would love to see people stand up for once and boycott their sports channels. Wouldn't even need to do it for long before they took notice. Unfortunately we don't do protests and boycotts well.

More major sporting events being cancelled with the open in July cancelled. Other events moved to the end of the year. The sooner they just void the season and aim to get a new one started towards the end of August, the better for everyone. They'll be able to form a transfer window and start selling season tickets etc and the players can actually rest rather than trying to keep at a level that can reach peak fitness within a week or twos notice.

UEFA is so scared of a voided season. These idiots dont realize the best case scenario for the sport to be back is a shortened 2020 season beginning in like november or december and in reality, the highest chance of the sport returning is fall 2021(and thats only if a vaccine is approved and scaled rapidly)

With Pep' s mum passing, Boris becoming very ill and players like Dybala having a bad effect to the virus I can't even see 'behind closed doors' being a responsible option.

Players can hardly avoid social distancing rules when in training centres and if they are kept in camps, it still won't stop caterers, cleaners, etc from bringing the disease in (and out) of the training centre. Where the disease will then spread like wildfire and you risk putting players, coaches, and other staff inside a 'viral load' situation.

Yep. There really is no choice here for the sport. The season must be universally voided as no results were mathematically finalized.

I think UEFA is the only thing stopping a voided season now. They’re so outspoken on banning any league from Europe that suspends/voids the season it’s a disgrace. The sooner they realize there is no other option for this season than a voided season and probably next season as well, the better for the sport.

As I say again for a league season to have integrity, all fixtures must be complete and completed on a level playing field. Some fixtures being completed at neutral gounds or behind closed doors are not a level playing field. There is no way around this, there is no way around any of it in my opinion, a void season is extreme for sure, it’s not what people want, but these are extraordinary times and I see no other way than voiding it.

We shouldn't assume that the season not finishing means it will be voided. Scotland for instance has just ended everything below the Premiership, but taken final standings based on points per game - which would see us finish 9th, below Arsenal, and not qualify for Europe.

Whatever happens it won’t be good for us. I guarantee that. It’s spurs!

I can't see how this would work personally. If I were in charge of Tottenham and the decision was made to finish as per the standings now then I would immediately file a lawsuit for loss of potential earnings. We are not mathematically out of the Champions League & with Kane & Son making their returns, a top 4 finish isn't impossible to imagine.

I personally think there are two options:

1 - Finish the season behind closed doors, extend the Transfer Window & shorten the summer break (considering players are essentially 'off' now).

2 - Void the season & standings from last season stay in place.

These are the only two fair outcomes. Either play the games & see who wins, or don't and void it. I have seen some suggestions regarding full stadiums etc & I understand it, however football is ultimately a game between 22 players at once and the most goals win, that is it & the crowds etc do play a part, but I don't think a claim would stand in court that it makes that much of a difference.

The crowd may not but there would be more than enough evidence to show home advantage makes a difference and lawyers would argue that home fans play a part in that I’m certain.
