Is there a doctor on the board?

Not vertigo certainly
as he's almost there already.
Boom, boom.

A serious question with some very silly answers.

Yes, but as previously mentioned, "dizziness" could both mean and be caused by a great many things.

As fun as it may be to jump on the OP. Let's be clear dizziness can be a symptom of many things, many of them not serious but some very serious indeed.

I hope he's OK and it is a great sign that he played on Saturday but it doesn't mean for certain there isn't still an issue. No doubt the club will be on top of this.

Really not comfortable joking about it just yet though.
Me neither which is why I ignored all the comments.

It could be Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo. BPPV. Caused by a particle floating around the ear. I get it when I look up quickly. There are head movements that get rid of it, but hope its not that.
Thank you for the most intelligent answer on this thread!

Menieres disease, migraine associated vertigo/vestibular migraine, there are many variations but most involve damage to the vestibular system which controls your balance among many other things. Famous people with these include Janet Jackson and Jason Day. Its unlikely it's one of these but they are possibilities. Ive had MAV for 8 years now.

Dizziness is one of the most common things a doctor will hear when a patient sits down in their office.

That and "Doctor I slept with this girl last night, she said she was an Arsenal supporter and now I have this funny looking rash on my knob..,"

To which the doctor would reply "Serves you right for sleeping with a tramp, Merson has probably been hanging out the back of her"

Oh and in regards to Alli, he had probably been reading Lawros predictions before the game which in turn gave him a migraine which then presented as dizziness, trust me...I am a doctor.

Yes, it really is. And far more often than not, they won't have an answer without other associated symptoms, and even then there is often not an answer.

The good news is that something as insignificant as allergies can cause it. Furthermore, I strongly doubt that this has anything to do with his vestibular system. There's a pretty simple physical examination maneuver which can be done to assess if that's an involved cause, and if it were positive, then I don't think we'd risk him further by letting him even train until it was resolved (vestib system is subject to moving parts, which could become more damaged) or an underlying cause were identified (such as Meniere's).

I used to get Meniere's attacks but haven't had one since Nov 5th 1991. Had it for about 5 years. Not a fun experience, dizziness and sickness without warning.
Always remember my last attattack.I was at my brother's house for a firework night BBQ, ended up laying on the bed with the fireworks going off outside the bedroom window.

Sorry to hear that. That is a very unpleasant disease. I don't believe that it is from the evidence at hand, but let's hope that it isn't the case with Alli.

Good to know there are those taking my thread serious. I just don't think it's normal for a 19 year old who is extremely fit and healthy to be having dizzy spells.

You deserved to have the piss taken out of you. Do honestly think that the club is that irresponsible that if any of its players had some kind of neurological complaint that they would be anywhere near the bench? Especially in light of the recent head injury directives? Give us a break

I heard they were doing dizzy penalties in the warm up before the game and he was still feeling the effects after he was the last man standing

Not if the club don't know what it is. Hence why he is having tests. Anyway I am done. Just thought I would ask.

Because the reality is that the club would have run full tests on him afterwards and would have never allowed him to play again if they thought it was something serious, he was more than likely just dehydrated or under the weather with something.

If it happens again then it's relevant, I had dizzy spells playing sports as well at times, it can be quite common with professional footballers, I honestly believe he was probably just feeling a little under the weather and Poch didn't start him because he hadn't trained during the week and wanted to ease him back in.

Maybe he just has an ear infection? As others have said, the club would have run tests because it's the responsible thing to do and they have a duty of care. If anything untoward had been discovered they wouldn't have let him play on Sat.
