What the pundits & media are saying about us

The only thing I couldn't wait for the season to end is really not so much of the dross performance, but really the witch-hunting and dog-beating of our club, coach and chairman at every opportunity of a defeat.
Not so easy when a section of our own bleeding fanbase do it, though.

You could’ve put any organisation after the word ‘it’s’ and the same point remains. There aren’t anywhere near as many decent pundits as there should be. Someone who studies teams week in week out and watches whole games, every game, recorded throughout the week, and not just MOTD highlights. I’ll have a lot more respect in that case.

Though to be fair, some people on here watch us every single game and still see things completely different to me... so who knows!
Funnily enough, Sky did have a pundit earlier in the season who had all those qualities.

Jose something-or-other his name was. Not sure what became of him...

just been listening to SSN and Mr Umbrella man McLaren was on talking about the final this weekend.

he was describing the time he won the League cup with Middlesborough and that he missed the 1st goal, and was thankful that VAR wasn't in place and that one of his very good friends was refereeing the match who is now in charge. if VAR was in place the penalty they scored wouldn't have stood due to a double hit not noticed on the day.

I always said that ref was as bent as fuck

Wright will always give us credit when it's due. He may be Arsenal, but he can see how well we've done.
I really like Ian Wright, one of my best mates is a Gooner, lives in Islington.

He told me that he's met him a couple of times, they say never meet your heroes but he was even sounder and more friendly than you see on TV.

He thinks because he was so late into pro football and it nearly passed him by that he massively appreciates what a privilege he had.

Soccer Saturday fucktards are at it again. Lescott saying re Kane and Son ‘it’s only 2 players out. Everyone has 2 injuries in their squads’. It’s honestly like they’ve never played or understood the game before. Merson with his usual ‘Jose’s changed and now looks like the Jose at the end of his Utd career’ while giving really bad examples.

There really are an excruciatingly low number of actual good pundits who understand the game and more importantly, the team they’re discussing in context with expectations etc. Most only know their own team.
Lescott must have a fantastic agent, because most people who are completely void of personality, lacking humour and demonstrate the basic levels of education would struggle to get anywhere near a job trying to articulate their knowledge and views to the great British public with any substance.

Met him once and he was very warm when he didn’t even need to acknowledge my presence. On the other hand as a school governor we wanted him to hand over a prize to do with a charity he was involved with but his agent demanded a big fee. So we got an Olympic silver medalist instead ... great for us adults but the kids had no idea who he was

About 17 years ago my daughter was doing some casual waitressing work whilst at university. Going outside for a break at a function she bumped into Ian Wright and he chatted to her for about ten minutes. She was really impressed with what a nice guy he is.

On 606 tonight a young lad called in, Spurs fan, and blind. Was a good call. Later in the show they said that Ramon Vega had been listening in, and that he'd offered to take the boy to a Spurs game when everything's back to normal (whatever normal looks like).

Nice gesture and nice story.

You can see from the bbc shows that he’s not that nice constantly telling shearer and lineaker to shut up, he’s had anger management issues, she stamped on schmichel, he’s a very jealous angry little man

According to?

I've met Wright on a few occasions now and he has always been a laugh. Comes across well. I can only go from my own personal experience.
