I also believe he's improved his substitutions (I no longer expect him to wait until 70+ mins to make his first sub), and positioning players where they're most effective. Sissoko being a prime example.
I had to open my big fucking mouth use my stupid fat fingers, didn't I.

Yesterday threw this comment squarely back in my face.

A bit unfair on walker. In one breath they are saying he’s a liability because he’s out of position and the next they are saying he’s playing as a winger. I’m afraid you can’t have it both ways. If he’s told by Guardiola to take up those positions it’s hardly his fault if he gets caught out that far up the pitch.

Pundits mainly saying
as an afterthought.
after praising or commiserating
with every other bugger in the top five

'Oh yeh and Spurs are third'

No nó no, Chelsea beat City and we have a three way title fight on our hands, Spurs win to go above Chelsea and the graphic shows a top two for the title. Sometimes you couldn't make it up.

Kevin Campbell on SSN now is a clusterfuck of a pundit.

Another one who watches a tiny bit of each team apart from the ones he supports. ‘Son is one of the most improved players at Spurs’. Really Kevin? Improved from the 18 goals he scored one season or the 21 he scored in the next?

And the presenter just asked him for his view on the Everton manager and Campbell went on about how he’s playing so well and has an eye for goal. Obviously didn’t listen to what he said. The presenter had to cut in and say ‘you’re talking about Richarlison’.

And he tried to look smart by using the word metamorphosis when talking about Spurs over the last few seasons. Just about managed to say it correctly.

They don’t half drag in some shit on SSN.

To be fair to the pundits they do have a point in this situation. Look at Walkers position when City lost the ball.

Walker is so quick and has clearly just switched off as seen here:

When you see the rest of the back three in a line, you can see how far out of position Walker is. Even playing as a 'winger' he should have been aware of the runner and the space that was behind him. He's so fast it's evident he must have switched off. I like him as a player but Rio is right and we saw this frequently at Spurs. A top player but those lapses stop him from being world class.

So i would agree with you had the Chelsea player been ahead of walker and Walker had been caught up field, but in this instance Walker is the right side of the Chelsea man at the start of the move and clearly just let his man run past him.

He’s fine in that position as the ball is on the other side of the pitch but yeah he should have retreated as soon as the ball was switched to his side. He didn’t do that quick enough, but I don’t think he was that out of position. Our players take up the same positions in similar circumstances.

Was that an accident? Seems like it was just part of the show to me rather than a "hot mic" accident to be honest.

There are other videos. There are a few points when they’re talking about what to say when the cameras start rolling. Also, Joe Cole did say in that clip that he’d never say Walker was a liability on tv because his mate goes to his gym. Definitely not supposed to air...

Joe Cole's mate or Kyle Walker's mate?

It's alright, some commentator, Martin Keown, and Kevin Kilbane (I think) on Football Focus just said Spurs are not "potential" winners of the premier League. Top 4 only for us. May as well give up now fellas

what cracks me up about these jesters is that we're significantly more tenacious and grind out wins not draws. Sort of like Man U in their heyday. do we have the potential to win - absolutely. Will it be easy - absolutely not.

Actually, the Neanderthal Man has been pretty fair towards us for some time now. Calls it as he sees it and doesn't let any Gooner loyalty get in the way.

I have to agree. For all of his missing-link looks and Arse connections, Keown is actually one of the more objective and balanced of the pundits, can't really fault him.
