Definitely an element of Bogey-ness IMO. The 3-5 turnaround under Hoddle, the ghost goal, the Nani goal that shouldn't have stood, Ben Foster and his iPad in the league cup final winning them the shootout, I'm sure there's many more I've forgotten too but we couldn't catch a break against them for ages. Not until we called upon the powers of The Deuce. ;)

We played them off the pitch that game as well. Jones marked Bale off the pitch but we were absolutely hammering them and despite being buzzing with the draw thinking we should have won. That was when I thought AVB was truly the one. Still stand by him setting the framework for what Poch when you look at who he established and signed in that time the spine of Poch’s team were established between 12/13.

Then to cap it all off he broke the Utd curse.

Minor update, but Ange’s now-nemesis (tongue-in-cheek ofc) journo Dan KP has moved from the Standard to the Athletic. Not reporting on Spurs anymore.

(I like John Nicholson)

I used to but to be honest he’s become an old man shouting at clouds. Af least this isn’t yet another article about how VAR is ruining football or the PL have too much money, but it’s still absolute horseshit. The fundamental flaw is that you judge managers on what you think they will do going forwards, and quite reasonably spurs didn’t find that convincing

Yep, I spose we are all to some extent victims of our age/‘era’.
