Fair but let's honest Souness and Redknapp never that complimentary/axe to grind. Linekar odd one (Leicester fan first and foremost it seems), Murphy/Dawson/Robinson andO'Hara are less high profile than Jenas was really. Crouchy isn't on all the games. My point is we dont have a Neville/Carragher type person who has our backs and is on most spurs games calling out the BS and talking about OUR good points.

Maybe it's my spurs tinted glasses but it really seems whenever we play we are lucky if they select someone that doesn't have a bit of hatred for us deep down.
haha, people complain about bias and it turns out that's OK if it's us they are talking about ;)

Off the top of my head (not including Bent and Jenas): Souness, Redknapp (J), Hoddle, Crouch, Lineker, Murphy, Dawson, Robinson, O'Hara. And Ginola on occasion...

Lets be honest Souness, Redknapp and Murphy are Liverpool men. Arguably Crouch as well.

Ginola rarely makes an appearance.

Lineker is a Leicester man despite his time here

Only Hoddle, Dawson and Ohara (who doesnt get the big punditry gigs)

Our own Ledley King has done a bit as well.

haha, yeah, watching the build up from the morning onwards was a ritual when I was a kid.
That was special but probably made more so by the fact that we were limited of choice back then.
My old man wasn't into football but cup final day was a must watch for me, along with Grandstand every Saturday. :oldman:

Match of the Day has been going all my life, The Big Match on ITV used to be a really good watch, I think they showed games by region, so we'd get something like a London derby, West Ham v Charlton or something, presented by Brian Moore. They run repeats every now and then on ITV 4 or something, when you look at that, punditry hasn't changed all that much but commentating I think, probably has, these days they generally don't stop talking.

Fernandes was that bad in the first half that the sending off didn’t really affect the game, they already looked like they were playing with ten men, possible even nine or eight.
I saw him with the ball shortly before the sending off and thought “oh, he is playing today”. I missed the start and he’d been entirely anonymous.

This is likely to be the gripe of fans of any club only when their teams play United or Liverpool. The rest of the world couldn't care less. You probably don't either if it's United v Southampton for example. My onions on pundits are well known on here because I keep banging on about it, both are decent enough pundits and I think a lot of them get unfair criticism, but the jackpot here when you get down to the nitty gritty, is Neville losing it over United creates 'news' and that's the bonus they are after.

Neville & Carragher are their main men so of course they'll do the 'big' games, it's unrealistic to expect Sky to take them off air to avoid offending the sensibilities of a relatively small section of fans when millions probably don't see it as an issue.

As for yesterday, (here we go again) we got enough credit but put your nuetral fans hat on, the actual story is United, how they have fallen and the managers position. Like it or not. People complaining that we got ten minutes and they got 45 or whatever, I mean, really? It's all fluff fleshed out with unrealistic expectation IMO

Bah :D
That’s all fair, just think it’d be better if Neville did the Liverpool games and Carragher did the United ones. Like I said I think they’re both decent commentators and can usual offer insightful analysis.

But this is our point. Fans of other clubs do indeed moan about it. I see it on X and fb on a regular basis so it’s happening every time Utd are live on Sky (more so when they don’t play well). I might not give a crap if it’s Utd v Southampton but Southampton fans will.

As mentioned, I like both of them as pundits and would happily listen to their views on a game, post match (even if I don’t agree etc) but to have that constant negative tone during the match while he’s commentating is really off putting. I just have bad memories of the 6-1 away win where we should’ve been lauded as the best thing since sliced bread and Neville was just constantly moaning about Utd all match. All. Match. To the point where non-Spurs fans picked up on it on social media. I remember the old days when co-commentators barely said a word unless they were asked something during the match. I long for those days again…
