In financial terms yes but they have utlised what they have and we have not hence why I said this Summer is important. IF you look at other teams forums they see Everton as a threat. We are barely mentioned at all nowadays (not a bad thing) reminds me of the way we got irritated with Liverpool fans dismissing us when they were in the wilderness. Form is everything and currently they are better.

Do explain. They finished ahead of us for the third time this century, and for maybe the sixth or seventh time in the past 25 years, so I don't quite see what you're getting at.

Obviously i can't speak for him, but i would say that it was something along the lines of us, generally having the better individual players. But Generally Everton play better as a team making up for the difference in player quality.

Obviously you have injury records and such to take into account.

I think we are more on terms with manager quality now, so it will be interesting to see if our advantage in player quality will pull us above and then away from them, if Poch can get them playing as a team.

There is no way to define who is actually the "Bigger" club but you can say which club is more attractive at any current time.

They did well last year based on their loan players. Look at these 3:

Lukaku
Barry
Deulofeu

The fact they have to rely on getting these players on loan speaks volumes as to where Everton are in the whole scheme of things. Big clubs loan out their fringe players, small clubs loan in players they can't afford.

Generally agree but what about Adebayor in 11/12?

This thread is getting very spammy again.

I've got a good idea, why doesn't someone go and see what opponents fans are saying and report back? Keep it funny though

It's a fair point but a slightly different situation. We only wanted him at the time because he became available as they wanted to get him off of their books. They subsidised his wages and a deal in principle(ish) was done that we could buy him if all went well. If a top quality striker, who had just had a successful loan spell at Real Madrid, had not become available we would have bought somebody else.

Could Everton have bought alternative players to the three loanees from last season?

I admire Everton as I think they are a proper club who, by necessity, do things the right way. However, at the present time and for the foreseeable future Spurs are the better prospect as we have more money, a more valuable squad, better foundations, no debt, are in London, a bigger profile and a stadium upgrade ongoing.

Chelsea: small club with big money. Not big club.

See how pointless this debate is?

Spurs are usually very active in the transfer market....usually late in the day when other big spenders have finished. With a new manager you'd expect them to spend again, but they will also be looking to get a lot more out of players they bought 12 months ago.

If I were Spurs I'd be looking to replace Kaboul. He was really out of his depth last season. He maybe no slower than Demichelis but somehow Demichelis rarely gets caught one on one

Keith's Curle wrote:You were obviously watching a different Vertonghen to me then. He was all over the place most of the time. Put in a few (not that many) decent crosses, but that's why he is a CB and I will always make excuses for him at LB.

Look how excited Palace fans are about Siggy rumours, they're so ecstatic that it almost makes me wanna sell him to them!:D Some quotes here, especially for all the Siggy haters here (yes, i have a boring day in a work) :

"Wasnt expecting us to be going the calibre of players we are going for this summer. Would be an outstanding signing"

"Encouraging. Top quality signing if we can pull this one off. Dead ball specialist."

"Nope. Not getting my hopes up. Nope. Definitely not. Nuh-uh. No"

"Please pls plz plss pl0x pwetty pweeze"

"Im actually about to swim in my own semen right now if that bid accepted report is true"

"This would been one of our best ever signings, the guy is pure class. This is too good to be true surely. I get the feeling Pulis is a huge pulling point for players, who wouldn't want to work for the great man"
