Pre-Match Thoughts - Bluemike
Spurs will not be easy at all and to get something from this game would be massive, last week I thought they looked poor against Crystal Palace as they fell to defeat but since then they have dumped Manchester City out of the Carabao Cup and took Villa to the cleaners in the League, although the final scoreline did flatter them slightly. Some of the Football played at Brentford and against Leicester does give One hope because we looked very very good at times and that is the standard we will need at the very least to avoid another heavy defeat against Spurs.

I don’t see us getting anything out of this game. I just hope it’s not a humiliating thumping.

Going to go for a very hard fought draw in this one with Szmodics banging in a couple. Seems to raise his game in the bigger games. So going to say 1-1 or 2-2……… or 5-1 Spurs if H.Son is on form.

I thought yesterday it was proved that Spurs are one of the clubs that receive no favours from the Premier League, match officials or VAR. so Sundays game should be played on a level playing field. Let’s believe that anyway.

Anybody of sound mind would predict nothing other than a thumping from this one.Maybe I'm not so sound, but shock results can and do happen, so I'm predicting both a win and a clean sheet. 0-2.

Given Tottenham have recently put 4 past both Villa and West Ham and knocked Man City out of the League Cup, whichever predicted line up I look at I can see nothing other than a comfortable Spurs win. Prediction; Spurs 4-1 Town
☹️

Well if we can keep it to 3.0.or 4 .we can't be any worse than villa..

We can but pray for a very 'Spursy' Spurs performance. Its a game like this that they have shown an extrodinary propensity to fall on their faces following good form so I am going to go for a 1-0 Town win. For those that are going - enjoy the stadium - its a most impresive place to visit.

I was a guest at Spurs v Everton recently. When they are good, they are very, very good. They can, as against Palace a couple of weeks ago, not turn up. Unfortunately, they tend to turn up at home. Fantastic stadium by the way.I'm afraid we will lose this one by at least two goals. I'm going for 3-1. It could be a right thumping though. I hope I'm wrong.

First time I've gone for us to lose a game in these polls this season, my usual optimism isn't doing it this time.

Well if we play like Galatasaray did against Spurs today, we’ll win comfortably! Defensively Spurs are loose; they concede goals regularly. Unfortunately, so do we and we don’t score as many goals as Spurs.
Well their one fan who realises we are good at home and bad away is ahead of 99% of the national media and a decent chunk of our fans. People keep saying we are unpredictable when we are actually one of the most predictable in the league - usually excellent at home and poor away.

I do love the guy equating our defensive record (same as Arsenal’s) with theirs. They’ve conceded one goal short of double the number we have!

All the comments just tell me that other teams fans are starting to worry about us again.
We are making progress but personally if I was an opposition fan I wouldn’t be worried about us at all given how shocking our away form is. In a single game though absolutely. This season I could see us getting turned over at Southampton then end up pulling Liverpool apart at home the following week.

Being noticed by others. Always feels like it. "I thought yesterday it was proved that Spurs are one of the clubs that receive no favours from the Premier League, match officials or VAR. so Sundays game should be played on a level playing field. Let’s believe that anyway."

Their fans were poor today. Especially coming out 2nd half when I was expecting a big lift. It was nothing like what Brighton fans offered. That dead atmosphere played into our hands today. They've clearly been spoiled for too long. The comments should be fun.

Only spurs can give you the highest highs and the lowest lows all in the same package. I’m ready, bring it.

As an amuse-bouche, may I present Villatalk:

  • Man. City really don't like playing Spurs do they? Didn't notice until now Romero is injured alongside Van De Veen so they've got Davies and Dragustin as their CB so comical if they hold out against all Man. City have in attack.
  • That’s a top ball in from Kulusevski
  • Even if it is Spurs this is very funny
  • Shitty day with spurs bossing it, unless spurs goes spursy and both team end up with a brawl and gets 20pts deducted
  • That's class from Madison, not just the finish the running
  • Spurs look like they will score with every attack
  • Man City could still win 7-2 knowing Spurs
  • Spurs on top at City, but in true Spurs fashion it would be no shock at all if City ended up winning this 3-2.
  • The running in Spurs midfield is light years ahead of ours. Maybe it will catch up with them at the end of the season though?
  • When Postecoglou was at Celtic, there were always a lot of hamstring injuries due to the intensity of their training and what was expected from the players in matches in terms of running.
  • Kulusevski has been phenomenal this evening
  • They are battering Man City.
  • And that’s the magic of PSR in full flow [?]. Spurs have Son, Maddison, Kulusevski on the pitch and can afford to have Johnson on the bench. They have so many attacking options with minimal dip in quality.
