We need to get over there and convince them it was all about the red card. We were lucky and Utd could have scored three etc.

Don't want him getting sacked FFS.
Yeah, I'm not so sure - one just posted this - and we think we are open at the back!

I don't usually go to opposition forum but this is glorious after all the years of the condescending twats. Look at all these threads!

They’ve had some bad luck with injuries to defenders though. Worst than us at one point last season! I seem to remember they had to play Evan’s at the back.

No excusing ETH pick of transfers though, he seemingly only buying ex players. Not sure if that’s a trust thing or what..

I was a bit gutted at the time, but United's FA Cup win was the best thing to happen to the club's competing with them. It's set them back another season minimum.

Not sure if this was posted but certainly made me laugh when he was jumping up and down. The filter makes him look like one of those Canadian South Park characters.

Red Cafe
  • I hate them all.
  • mETH football instead of champagne football.
  • watershed moment
  • At the bar today after the game, a Liverpool and Arsenal fan shook my hand and offered sympathy. Make of that what you will.
  • Imagine if Son played and got those chances Werner had. It would have been 6-7 easily
  • Ruined my birthday. Twats
  • Fair play to spurs they were bang up for it and have a few very handy players
  • Type of performance that makes you crave an international break.
  • Today, I saw Spurs just play a system that ran rings around us and we played a nothing style of football and got what we deserved, in fact we deserved a worse score line
  • Spurs had an xg of 5.41. Genuinely don't think I've ever seen it that high before
  • If you factor in that it’s Werner taking the shots it drops to 0.5 tbf
  • Even the most deluded bastad on the cafe couldn't have thought we'd get utterly tonked at home by a Son less Tottenham.
  • Presume Postecoglou was wearing his funeral coat today as put the nails in Erik's coffin
  • Hate this team. Only watch out of habit. Brings me no happiness at all.
  • I'm trying to decide if the red card makes it better or worse. Probably buys the manager a stay
  • Just put the poor bloke out of his misery, Jim.
  • The vast majority of us agreed he had to go before the Fa Cup Final. Every single one of you that changed your vote to keep him after that one game asked for more of this shite. Hope you're all enjoying it.
  • Old Trafford turned today. Sevilla moment
  • That’s it for me. Far far too many of these. At home too. Definition of madness
  • The media will take the piss all week now, they got their wish: utd lost and had a man sent off.
  • Amazing result. If he doesn't get sacked after this one then this club is hopeless.
  • Post match interview:
ETH:We were better before Bruno's red card
  • Lost 8 of our last 20 home PL games.
If that’s not a sackable record then I don’t know what is
  • Lads it’s Spurs.
  • I see 0-3 or worse. Can anyone out there properly rationalise why I might be wrong?
I hoped you’d be wrong, but you called it
  • As bad as it gets.First half should've been 3 down at least.
It feels like the end game for EtH
  • First half performance was enough for me.
Had we mustered a result, wouldn't have been enough
One of the worst halves under Ten Hag
Thank you, but it's time to go
  • Genuinely we've seen some bad performances over the years. But this is the worst of them all.
  • We're lucky Werner couldn't score in Ibiza with an arse packed with ketamine or that could have been a proper thumping.
  • Even before the red card, we were outplayed. That first Spurs goal? Absolute stupidity from Garnacho and Rashford, compounded by the fact that our midfield and defense is a sieve and further compounded by the fact that our goal keeper can't be arsed covering a potential crossing opportunity.
  • "It was a good performance. I thought we did some good things, but, ah, the, ah, sending off was the turning point..."
Pretty concerning that I can’t tell if this legit his interview or a spoof
  • Boring club.
  • I was at that game, one of the worst I've experience in my 19 seasons as a ST holder. There has been plenty of drab performances which mirror today under ten Hag but today we barely passed to our own men in the first half, this has to be it now.
  • Right. The ETH sack votes on caf has been > 75% for weeks. And now > 80%.
    I am surprised he hasn't been sacked yet.;
  • It's a high tackle, from the side and catches the player, it's a red, get over it
It was not a high tackle, Bruno slid on a wet pitch and basically went into free fall legs up. It may not have been obvious to the ref, but was very obvious when they showed it from other angles and VAR had to at least have told the ref to check the monitors. It was an absolutely herendous call and everybody except for Spurs fans, and apparently you, agreed
  • Each time you think you've seen our worst performance we go and stoop to new levels
Absolutely disgraceful. No desire, no leaders, no discipline.
I'm furious with the players attitudes, didn't even TRY and make something happen just gave up yet will happily collect their hundreds of thousands a week wage
ETH has Absolutely got to go. Tonight. I said before the FA cup we could win 10-0 and I'd still want him gone because of how awful the season was. Ineos have made this bed and now have to lie in it..it's basically written off the season and I don't think they'll pull the trigger yet
I Absolutely don't want Southgate and don't think RVN is the answer but ETH is untenable at this point (and was a long time ago let's be honest)
  • I'm saying there's contact, but not enough for a red as your'e implying. Yellow - sure. Red - moronic.
  • I still cannot get over the first goal
    1. Rashford loses the ball AND DOES NOT EVEN CONSIDER tracking back to win it back. Garnacho next to him also decided to lounge up top and observe what happens like a spectator
    2. Bruno does not try to even press on sprinting Van de Ven. Maybe Bruno is not fast enough to have caught him, but at least he could have tried and given him some worry, rather than creating half a field worth of space to jog through
    3. Mainoo actually slows down and makes zero effort to catch up to Johnson, way before Johnson got the ball
    4. Dalot loses Johnson as well, so by the time Van de Ven fires, Johnson is wide open
I mean... you can have one player not give a shit, two players not give a shit, but how can you have these many players shit the bed is something to seriously question
  • The way Spurs played in the first half was exactly how they've played their other away games this season. Ange doesn't change, which grants any opposing manager the head start of knowing what they'll be playing against. For us to come out and still be so over-run and bamboozled just shows how tactically inept Ten Hag is.

And this is the thing - I don’t think Spurs are even that hard to play against. They run a borderline suicidal high press and high line. All you need is some pace up front, someone capable of playing some decent long balls in behind, or maybe a target man to win the first balls and knock ons.
Instead we are trying to beat the press every time when we clearly weren’t able to.
Now I do prefer a more controlled, possession based system, but we were an absolute million miles away from that today. I think it was at the end of the first half that I remember us having our first actual passage of play and possession around their box.
The whole thing was just an utter shambles at a tactical level. And that’s before you take into account the mistakes, brainfarts and sloppy passing (which to an extent should have been drilled out of them anyway, so also a coaching issue).
  • Watching that first goal back pisses me off so much. How has their LB run 70 yards and nobody got anywhere near him? Rashford loses the ball and doesn't even turn around. Garnacho is just watching. Bruno and Ugarte run back, but don't make an actual challenge.
  • Centre back, not LB.
  • Don't think spurs will have a easier game then that this season
  • I hate that we look beaten before the whistle even blows.
We looked beaten from as soon as they opened the scoring.
  • Who knows what would have happened at 1-0 when 11 v 11. First half didn’t look great but it’s spurs after all. Think that will go down as the worst red card in premier league history that totally killed us off. Won’t ge talked about, but it’s a criminal decision
  • One thing losing to title chasing Liverpool 3-0 whom had just three shots on target and it's 10 times worse losing to such average Tottenham side who had 10 shots on target. Granted United played half the match 10 men but even before that sending off A united was lucky not to be further behind.
  • A game which encapsulated the last 18 months. Clueless.
I am certain we’d still have lost badly even with 11 men.
  • This has been like an FA Cup third round game against non-league opposition for Spurs. A comfortable 3-0 with the other team trying but not even getting close.
  • Never a red card and that killed the game entirely. Yes, we were shit but all hope was extinguished with that awful decision
  • And goes against the few times we’ve looked decent this season. When we slowed it down and kept the ball against Palace we looked much the better for it.
Yes, but even then we only really looked decent against shit teams. Spurs were never going to give us the same amount of time on the ball that we had against Southampton, Barnsley and Palace, so this and the next few matches were always going to be the test.
  • Just get a random Spanish coach in and stop hiring dutch people to be our manage

Most of this is spot on, apart from the red card discussions... personally didn't think it was a red but it doesn't even matter. We were battering them before the sending off. They actually got better with 10.

Let's face it, if it weren't for Onana and Werner (at opposite ends of the spectrum) it could have been 6+.

The worrying thing for United is the options of RVN or Southgate. Either one is a step back from Ten Haag. They have some good players there, but it's an absolute mess regards to playing style.

They should have just appointed Poch when they had the chance.

The one thought (united wise) is Garnacho and Rashford, the tracking back was absoloutley non existent. Mazzeroui (sp?) and Dalot were left with an impossible job.

Although Dalot should be ashamed (and dropped) based off his tracking of Johnson on the first goal, an Ndombele style disgrace.

Red Cafe(Game Week 6 thread, so loads of opposition fans posting)
  • Surely only 4-5 teams in the Prem have a worse front three than this Spurs three
  • Better than ours and more than enough to stuff us at Old Trafford
  • Wowsers what a run
  • Van der Ven. Wow
  • Imagine trying to save your job playing Rashford week in week out
  • VDV is like an Olympic sprinter
  • Spurs carving United up here
  • I like how we make every team we play look like world-beaters. We are the team to boost every other teams confidence.
Exactly my thinking, Spurs have looked very meh up until this match
  • Spurs is lacking better players. Software is there
  • Spurs need two more or theyre still gonna fold in the second half
  • CBs running through our team and doing sideways bicycle kicks against us... nah ETH needs to go.
  • Making Romero look like Madonna.
  • Werner and missing absolute sitters, I can't think of a better combination
  • That’s never a red. He’s slipped and he catches him with the back of his heel
  • We won the Champions League with Werner as a starting forward for us
  • Never a red. Yellow, sure, but come on.
  • Solanke been quietly abysmal
  • Spurs have been great, should've been 2 or 3 up even before the red card.
  • Yeah prior to that red, United were atrocious. Should be behind by more than one
  • Ten Hag should go in the international break really. He's crap
  • If Son instead of Werner was playing this would be 4 or 5.
  • First corner taken by the 15y old is more dangerous that any of Eriksen's since he came on. And goal

  • Sp**s line-up is baffling to me
  • Interesting match up to come here, Sp**s desire to attack and use their press as their form of defending will suit United nicely.
    Should be a good watch.
  • Both utd and Sp**s teams stinks. Specially Sp**s really mid team utd should win if they don't then title over
  • What title. "Worst PL side given their amount of money spent", they're fully going for that one.
PL title was never in question
  • ten hag masterclass today
  • Van de ven wooooow
  • damn Van de Ven
  • That was mad from Van de van
  • I want Sp**s to smash United to smithereens
  • Wow van de ven that was sensational
  • vdv always moves up in my estimates everytime I watch spu*s play
  • He put on the afterburners as they say…woow
  • Kulusevski and Madison in midfield. I thought you had to have 2 defensive midfielders in midfield
  • Sp**s toying with them
  • Strong start from Sp**s, they are capitalising on United's poor pass completion.
United need to put their foot on the ball and choose their passing better. Basketball games suit Sp**s.
  • United making Sp.rs look like Barca 2010 they cutting them open every attack.
  • The fact these guys making Johnson's and Werner look world class is insane
Gotta get some work done, but will go back on inabit.

These shits were extremely lucky to even beat us. They didn’t dominate us and if we were more clinical it would have been a different scoreline. Now we are starting to play our style again played the way we did yesterday we would have beaten them.

  • Sp**s should be 3 up
  • You'd swear the way they are being cut open time and time again that they were the away team.
  • You notice with Sp**s... that Vicario, Van Der Ven and Udogie cant pass the ball or dribble out of pressure.
That's one of their weaknesses which must be exploited more.
  • Ange want this game done so he can go eat his double cheeseburger
  • Sp*ddies should be out of sight by now
  • Udogie will be big blow for Sp**s if he injured
  • Sp**s are cutting through them easily here. Hope we can bang them in the same way when we play them
  • how is it only one nil
  • Sp**s will overwhelm a lot of teams this season with their 2 attacking midfielders. It all comes down to finishing. I think they are top of most attacking stats so far
  • Yup, that's exactly how they defend, by attacking relentlessly. They want to attack you, and press you as their way of keeping the ball away from their goal in addition to creating their chances.
So one of the ideas is to get Sp**s building with the ball and then put them under intense pressure, they cant handle that.
  • Ugarte just kicked the ball away and delayed the restart. But it looks like the rule is only enforced for certain teams, not sure which ones.
I f*ing knew this bs rule was gonna go out the window, basically just used it to f* us over in 2 games and it will be ignored for the rest of the season
  • getting bantered at home against Sp**s this is a new low for united
  • if Son was available they'd be 3 up already utd been embarrassing worse than Liverpool game
  • Getting battered at home by an average Sp**s team is a crime against humanity.
  • Imagine if Werner wasn’t a bum
  • Wow, Sp**s seem to be all over them for last 5 minutes I started watching this.
  • They are being pressed into oblivion here.
  • ten hag will be sacked before we play them ffs
  • Sp**s passing & movement is very good.
Has been most of the season tbf.
They also looked to have tightened up defensively. VDV pace has been massive for them
Don't want them to finish top 4. But they could well do if keep performing.
  • That’s never a red
  • Nah man I hate United but that's not a f*ing red, i despise the way referees ruin games in this league its a f*ing farce
  • Thats the guy who sent off Rice. Guys got a main character sindrome
  • United are gonna get pumped by at least 4 goals here.... Let's see them 'show us how to play with 10 men'.
  • Sp**s doing the defense on the halfway line thing again😭
