Arsenal Mania
  • They’re awfully quiet in this window. Good.
  • Just remembered and think it's quite funny.
There was a period in time in Sp**s history, where they were playing Luka Modric wide to accommodate both Tom Huddlestone and Wilson Palacios in the centre of midfield
  • Could they be cooking this season?
  • They seem to believe they'll be cooking this season, really hyped with the youngsters coming in, which to be fair are great youngsters.
Talk of them challenging for the league if they get Eze, Toney and Neto. Archie Gray seems to be the Rice they are looking for, and dont be suprised if Gray is better than Rice by the end of September
  • Gray is already better than Rice as per them. He might be the best ever midfielder to grace this sport by end of August
  • Solanke had a great season but 65m is risky af considering Richarlison was more proven and didn't really work out

I read Leicester expect to be without Daka and Vardy, so no surprise that most are predicting doom.

I recently discovered a FPL podcast (FPL Planet) where their Leicester fan sounded utterly defeated about the season that awaits them before it’s even started. We should win on Monday but if we continue last season’s trend of conceding first that will give the crowd belief and Steve Cooper knows how to defend a lead much better than how to chase a game.

  • Would love to see us beat Spurs
  • Dear god no, not the start of the season
  • i think supporters will play a massive role on Monday. We need to make it bloody horrible for Spurs
  • Leicester 0-7 Spurs. If Spurs are anything near their best they'll run a train over us, genuinely think our away record could look in jeopardy at some point
  • Not adding to the negativity needlessly but sense a comfortable away win by 2-3 goals and a toxic atmosphere
  • Fear the worst to be honest, but it's a new season - Got to have a bit of hope and optimism!
    1-1
  • Smash and grab by us. Winks curler from distance in the 92nd minute
  • We are an early goal away from disaster on Monday I think. Could be a record score.
Quite looking forward to going with my lads again but expecting a busy night in the goals against column.
  • Unfortunately not feeling very confident, 3-0 Spurs - Madders brace
  • Could be an open game the way Spurs play. Should be entertaining. Trying to think positively - at least Kane won't be there. He scored a lot against us.
  • in other news, Spurs will spank us 0-4
  • expecting a 6 or 7 goal defeat, Solanke to stick in a hat trick and things to get very toxic come full time
  • The side isn't a patch on the one that got relegated 2 years ago. We lost those 2 games against spudsy 9-4. Spurs are an improved side on 2 years ago
  • Can we please not boo Maddison. Of the 22 players on the pitch, he'll have done the most for this club, and especially during that disaster of a season.
  • To be fair I feel like Maddison is one of the few players who would crumble under booing
  • Nah definitely not. Always raised his game when he got booed for us
  • Try to keep it to less than 3 for sake of goal difference
  • We’ll be all but relegated by HT
  • Comfy win for Spurs, but some positives for us to takeaway is the best we can hope for
  • Be nice to not have Kane score a hat-trick
  • I expect a pretty comfortable loss although I think we have potential to hurt them on the break
  • I'm fully expecting us to get twatted 5-0 so this is highly likely to be a 2-1 win
  • Going to be optimistic and say that we score a goal in a 1-3 defeat. IDGAF who scores it
  • It's a terrible opening fixture in its own right. Spurs the kings of performing with the pressure off, started exceptionally last season. Side full of players who love a goal against us as well, add in Maddison
    lol
The links in the last few days are of slight more encouragement but this is a comfortable loss. 0-3
  • All I know is that I have three Spurs players in my Fantasy team. And none of ours

Good lord, they’re miserable.

I didn’t like the sound of an evening game opening the season at the KP, but they have looked hopeless in pre-season.

Sadly imo Vardy is done, he has lost that yard. Ans honestly feel sorry for him for not being *found* sooner in his career. If we don’t win on Monday, il be worried.

He's injured for our game anyway. As is Daka.

I should probably add, its also a painful thread when we lose.

I usually trawl through the rivals threads to look for the key in game moments, purely for this:

I’m normally nervous about playing newly promoted teams away from home opening game of the season but I think we’ll obliterate them 2-1.

Why are they so negative??
They've lost their manager that promoted them.

Lost their best player in Dewsbury-Hall.

Both their strikers (Vardy and Daka) looks to be out injured on Monday.

They are fearing points to be deducted due to PSR this season.

They've had a bad pre-season. Lost to Lens, Augsburg and Palermo without scoring a goal.

I mean people on here are miserable at the best of times, these fans actually have plenty of reasons to be worried.

But they have Harry Winks.

A few additional comments that I liked:
  • Hopefully Spurs will ease off once they're 2 or 3 up.
  • Genuinely buzzing to watch Faes & Kristiansen chase their own shadow for 90 minutes, Bobby Decordova Reid pull up with a strain that puts him out for the season and Daka to....well, and Daka.
  • Replied to above: Daka is already injured
  • On Maddison: He'll have a great game. Because it's August, and he's the World Champion of football in August. Just a shame this game wasn't scheduled for next April/May because that's when his form usually drops off a cliff.
  • 0-10 - Spurs break our 0-9 record in the 97th minutes. Cooper breaks down and cries while Rudkin and Top laugh, joke and hug on the pitch at full time. Brendan Rodgers flies in on a giant Chapstick and joins in the celebrations with Top and Rudkin.
  • On Bissouma's video: He's now claiming that it was reading about our performance pre-season and in the transfer market that made him piss himself and that the video of him laughing insanely had nothing to do with the use of nitrous oxide
