Chairman: 100% wage cut
Senior Management: significant reductions.

West Brom's Chief Exec.

“On Friday both the EPL and EFL agreed to postpone its fixtures indefinitely, which will test all football clubs throughout the country. At the moment, the Club is financially stable and remains so for the foreseeable future.

“But everybody is fully aware these are very uncertain times in which we simply cannot forecast what the future holds. Until we regain a level of certainty, we cannot be sure if planned income will actually be received or if we will be forced to utilise cash the Club already holds to refund existing commitments.

“What we do know for fact is that our operations are almost completely closed down and we are receiving virtually no income. Almost all of the Club’s usual costs still need to be paid, the majority of which are wages whether this be admin staff, maintenance teams, management or, of course, the first-team players.

“With that in mind, I think it is only correct that for the duration of this lockdown I take a 100 per cent cut in my salary and other members of the senior management team have also offered to take significant reductions in their remuneration.

“Like many other clubs. we have considered using a Furlough approach with non-playing staff who are now unable to work owing to the lock-down and we have made plans for this eventuality.

“At present we have not been required to sanction this action, but if the lockdown continues and football remains ‘on-hold’ then this decision may have to be changed. What we will pledge is to ensure none of the staff effected suffer a reduction in pay; the Club will make up the 20 per cent shortfall not covered by the Government’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.

“I should perhaps add at this point that nothing underlines the spirit of our staff, or the commitment they have for Albion, than to tell you that several have volunteered to take pay cuts in order they help the Club navigate a way through these difficulties. It says everything about the core values which run through our staff for which I and all the senior management team are both mindful and appreciative.

“Clearly there has been a lot of media attention on player wages and the comments of the PFA. It is difficult to forecast our future position because of the various ways the Club receives its income. But if we continue to be unable to play football in any format, we will discuss this further with the players who I am confident will want to play their part."

I think I am getting it . Spurs are evil incarnate and probably responsible for coronavirus and all other ills in football including responsible for all footballers not taking a wage cut its quite clear .
Don't let the fact that the £44million tax over two years is more than the rest of the premiership combined payed .
Never mind the fact that they have given employment chances to young people in what is one of the most deprived areas in London where the politicians have done nothing to help these youngsters .
Never mind the college they have set up to help give the youngsters of the area improve their education .
Never mind the low end social housing they are putting up when the council are not building any at all .
Never mind that other clubs are now turning to the furlough .
Just remember everything that's wrong with football is the fault of spurs Levy and ENIC.

Have you got a link to that 44 million tax vs the rest of the league?

Couldn't find an up to date report but according to the Mirror between 2008 and 2017 Arsenal paid £30m in tax, ourselves £24m.

"The rest of the Prem sides paid less than £19m between them, with Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea not paying anything, according to figures collated by football finance expert Swiss Ramble."

The £ 44 million are the figures for 2018 to 2019 .
Dontcallme 's figures are correct but for 2008 t0 2017 .
You can find all the figures in football finance Swiss Ramble .
I think spurs fans have got to realise that there is a media agenda against spurs and not listen to what the papers are writing but investigate their many allegations about how " spurs are such an awful club " when we are no worse than other clubs in fact maybe a little better in some areas . I get shot down when I say there is an " anti spurs agenda " It is said I am paranoid but when I see countless lies and made up stories by newsmen I know it fuels my so called paranoia . I could name half a dozen newsmen that have written lies or at best views that were slanted to show our club in a bad light .
An example one paper had a two page spread three days running about how dastardly Levy and Spurs were in the current situation with coronavirus . But its gone quiet now as more clubs are furloughing their staff especially Liverpool no doubt even more clubs will furlough their non playing staff and it will hardly get a mention .

I completely agree there's a antispurs agenda in the media.

I'm just not sure why. Is it because we are a jewish club ?

There isn't you just notice it when people criticise spurs and not when the same people criticise other clubs because it isn't linked here. You get fans of all clubs convinced that the media hates their club for that reason.

Here's the Guardian's stories on Liverpool furloughing staff:

Daily Mail:

The Independent:

Not convinced Liverpool are getting anymore of a free ride than we are. If you haven't read stories about other clubs getting the same criticism as us it's because you haven't read the stories, they are clearly there.

Every club has it's fans that believe there is an anti (insert club name here) agenda in the media.

What I am saying is Liverpool are getting it in the neck but generally its one small half column we had three days of double page rant from the same writers on the same subject If that is not bias then I have to retire from this discussion otherwise I will get angry and start crushing grapes .It is as tho they have discovered that they cannot pursue this avenue to have a pop at us otherwise they will have to treat the other clubs with the same contempt and they won't do that on this subject they will just dig around for some other subject to have a go at us and mark my words they will .In my opinion there will be more clubs using the " furlough " route and not much will be said about it bit it would not surprise me if they say " Spurs are at fault for starting this furlough business "

Pool have reversed their decision re furlough so least their owners were able to admit they made a mistake yet our lot can't see how poor of a decision it is and how badly they have hurt the club with it.

Oh bomber, if only I’d waited a little longer to post my opinion....

?
Not necessarily..........

As I just posted in the Liverpool thread: "No detail that I can see about what it means for the affected employees. If it means that the club will continue to pay them their wages in full, fair enough. If not, the lowest paid employees of the club will be screwed over so that the club can get some good PR."

I think it's obvious what has happened, Liverpool in cahoots with their dear friends in the media clearly planned the U-turn just so the media could attack us even more! They're all against us and will stop at nothing to see the mighty Spurs defeated.
