I just have no emotion towards City, still feel like a soulless and almost plastic club to me. The fact that they have one up on everyone else in the league anyway with the ridiculous money they've spent on their squad, I really couldn't care less when things like this happen to them.

No sympathy whatsoever, fuck them!!!! If there was no VAR and the goal stood, you would see pundits all over scrutinising the handball and saying “should it of been given ? “ . The fact is , the ball hit his hand and set up Jesus for the goal, so by the laws of the game it means no goal.

Fucking self entitled Manc northern ****s getting there own way all time and can’t stand the fact that we fucked them over twice in a row Hahahaha. Remember who you are City fans. You were a bunch of no marks before you were bankrolled by the Arabs.

Reading through that, they are 100% certain it's all a conspiracy to stop them from dominating the PL.

It’s amazing isn’t it? The most financially doped team in football history and they are moaning about corruption. A complete lack of self awareness.

I don’t think they like us very much: :(

“Sick as a dog. I fucking hate VAR, but not as much as I hate Tottenham! If I wasn't with my daughter today I'd still be in Grey Mar Lane. FUCK OFF YOU HORRIBLE CHAZ N DAVE ****S! “
I think he'll find it's FUCK OFF YOU HORRIBLE N DAVE ****S!
As fans we'll hate any team if a decision goes against us if it's at the cost of 3 points. Some people really do lose their heads over inflated pigs bladders! Bigger things to worry about in this world.

There is a thread on FTL talking about quite a lot of trouble after the match. City fans waiting outside (Maybe that's what he means by Grey Mar Lane?), Police unprepared, City fans attacking men, women and children.

One post:
They were there but they were massively caught by surprise by the numbers city had and the fact that they were really wanting to attack us. As we came out of the away end we were pretty much ambushed. As we walked further along the road the situation got worse as the city fans were trying hard to break through the police. We were in-between a them and a fence and had they broke through we were in the shit to be honest. We managed to get out of the bottle neck eventually but the atmosphere was really toxic everywhere.

Back in the station it all kicked off again.

City fans were scum, they were targeting anything they could get to and it didn't matter if you had no interest in fighting them or not.

I think our fans will remember today when they come to WHL.

Reminds me of being up there in 93 for the FA Cup, wankers....

They all seem to forget that in the biggest game of them all we also had a handball against us - the CL final. So for them and for others to come out and say we are lucky is ludicrous.

Can confirm, my old man got bashed up by 3 of them after the game for no reason, wasn’t being mouthy & was just walking to the station with his bird. She tried to stop them and got whacked and thrown on the floor. Supposedly they were targeting anyone coming out the away end - women, kids, elderly. Bitter scummy ****s.

I’ve been following Tottenham since I was seven and all I can say is keep VAR coming. We’ve been the recipient of so many shit decisions over the years that I’d be happier knowing that more key moments in games are being more comprehensively scrutinised.

Case in point: CL quarter final last season and today. The lazy adage, you make your own luck can fuck right off now
It comes down to this for me. Mendes at old Trafford, Carrick winning a penalty with no contact from Gomes, Lampard goal not crossing the line, no shortage of clearly offside goals.

Supporters can be subjective, the rules and their application should not be.

If we are going to lose, it should be on the basis of fairness. I’ll happily live or die (metaphorically speaking, of course) by VAR working for or against us. If we score a goal and it’s disallowed because technology is able to find an infringement, then fine- it’s frustrating but fair.

If we lose a game because a key decision goes against us and it isn’t fair, that’s infinitely worse because it’s not fair. VAR should eliminate this outcome, but it’ll probably need a little time to fine tune itself.

Nani practically picking the ball up in our area before deciding to play on and knocking it into an empty net still wrankles with me.

Chelsea twice were given goals against us where the ball did not cross the goal line. The referee had no right to award a goal as there was no evidence of a goal having been scored. Goal line technology (and VAR) will drastically reduce goals with no legitimate reason to be given and will spare us the cliches from pundits that, ‘it wasn’t a goal, but Spurs (or a.n.other team) have to do better afterwards...’ or, that ‘Gomes should have stopped it before it got to that stage...’ and smug post match interviews where Lampard informs us that, ‘he’s owed a goal after the error at the preceding World Cup against Germany’ as if some footballing injustice has been rectified.

I’m all for it... two of the biggest things in an individual game are a goal or a red card, let’s get those correct, at least.

I imagine they’re pissed that despite going from a two bob club to a superpower via financial doping, they’re going to miss out on one of the key benefits of being a big club, one that their neighbours enjoyed for years, namely having refs give you every bloody decision especially at home..

If it doesn't hit Laporte's arm the ball goes through to Ndombele and Jesus doesn't get anywhere near the ball. What's the controversy? It was the correct decision.

The controversy is that last season City would have got that goal and would have bagged 3 points instead of 1. VAR has been brought in to clear up such errors, but in this case it went against the media darlings so it becomes a debate. If it had gone against us (or most other teams playing City, or Liverpool for that matter) nobody would have mentioned it.
