These 2 posts sum up fans of most clubs. The irate reactionary vs the considered big picture.

“Honestly hope Chelsea and Arsenal grab the two other top 4 spots. Fuck Spurs. Absolute legends.”

“Not being funny but today was the perfect example of why beating City to the league title is an almost impossible task. Spurs didn't bottle it at all, they were just exhausted from the game in midweek. City on the other hand can just play their other first team and on top of that rely on the referee to get them out of any sticky situations. We can't blame Tottenham for that.”

Funny how (some) pool fans are blaming us, calling us legends. I think they need reminding, that they were 9 points clear going into that city game

If they don't win the league it's the biggest bottle job since Newcastle blew a 12 point lead.

If they don't win it, will this be the 3rd time they've been leading at Christmas only to bottle the title? 3 TIMES!!

After our loss yesterday, this would be a second consecutive day that RAWK would be on meltdown knowing that this United side will get nothing from City in midweek.

You have to remember when it comes to Citeh that anyone in their mid 40s into 50s has their hearts broken as kids when we beat them in the final. The boss of one of my clients is a lifelong season ticket holder with Citeh and he still dislikes us just because he cried all the way home from Wembley to Manchester as a kid :ROFLMAO: I obviously had to call him on Thursday regarding some work stuff ;);) He took it really well and said it was the maddest game he’d ever been to. Still thought it was handball though. :ROFLMAO:

United’s fans (after the Everton loss) on tomorrow’s game against City on Redcafe -

“After today I'm going to be a massive City fan on Wednesday, I don't give a flying feck.

I even hope they absolutely roast us and the atmosphere in the stadium turns toxic, because boy do these players deserve it. They've thrown away all the momentum the club built up in 2019, thrown away the top four, thrown away the FA cup. Delusions of grandeur throughout the squad right now.

The majority of this sickly squad have to go into the summer thinking their United careers are on the line, because they fecking should be.

There is nothing left in this season for United fans except hoping City win the league and backing Ajax to win the CL.”

“100%. Play the first XI to make sure we lose.”

“Come on City.”

“The real question is will we concede 5 or 10?”

“Play Jones in goal for all I care as long as we help them win over Livershite I'm happy.”

“If these dickheads decide to show up on Wednesday night v City, I’ll be fecking fuming.”

“I'd give Lincoln City 66% chance of beating us.”

United fans seem a happy and confident lot. Not.

Honestly, hand on heart. There is absolutely no scenario where we could be playing Arseanal & I'd be willing them to beat or roast us.

I think the takeaway here, is, Liverpool is the real rival to United than City. And I believe that.
One more title to City means nothing for United. But a title to Liverpool, is everything current generation United fan despise.

I know that though. Even down here in Cornwall, the United fans hate the Scouse more than the blue side of Manchester.

I was just speaking from my own standpoint. If we we're playing any of Arseanal, Chelsea or West Ham, and losing against them would mean that it stopped any of Arseanal, Chelsea or West Ham winning the league. I still wouldn't wanna lose against any of those lot.

I guess I just don't discriminate, and simply hate everyone equally.

More from Redcafe ...

“I would leave the weasels out there on the pitch embarrassing them until the end of the season

Leave them on display for the world to see”

“My two best mates are Liverpool fans. They’re loving it today. feck it, lose to city. We’re not getting top four anyway. Do not want Liverpool winning the league.”

“I want us to lose. People acting like finishing 5th or 6th will ruin the club. It may actually do us some good as cracks can't be papered over.

I hope we lose the Derby. Don't want the vermin winning the league. I want it to reach 30 years.”

“A nice early City goal will settle the nerves.”

“Don't need Lingard, we've got Phil Jones.... the new Duncan Edwards”

“What a fecking wanker Klopp is. I just can't stand how the media lick his ass.
He will be watching the game no doubt.
I've said it many times.
Hope City beat us good and proper.”

“We should just bang in a load of early og’s to settle any nerves in the stadium.”

“Yeah...nah...

BBC - Liverpool's Milner will be supporting Man Utd 'for first time in my life'”

“I hope we are losing and both sets of fans join in unison for a stadium wide rendition of "Are you watching Merseyside?".

And more ...

“So United fans will be cheering on City, while Liverpool fans will be backing United. This is gonna be akward all around.” (This one’s from a Liverpool fan)

“Ideal scenario for Wednesday's match....utd take the lead after 5 mins...

Utd double the lead on 75 mins...
City pull one back on 80 mins...
City are level 90 mins...and finally one Aguerrrrroooooo moment on 95 mins.
City win 3-2.
That would destroy the staunchest of Liverpool fans and players altogether.”

“I tell ya, the pubs are gonna be a weird place on wed. Liverpool fans cheering on "the rags", united fans cheering on "shitty", and city fans pissed off that they cant get their usual quiet pint during a game
lol.gif
.”

“We must do our absolute best to lose. No excuses, our players have let us down too many times recently and I can't bear them letting us down again by getting a result in this one.”

“Through gritted teeth I can accept it if Ole puts out a youth focused team, who fight and scrap and compete with City but lose to a controversial penalty decision.

Then both teams laugh at the scousers crying at the end.”

“If Liverpool win the league the nauseating UK media circle jerk will be absolutely unbearable.
City winning another title is completely meh. They clearly cheat and break the rules and so them winning anything doesn't register for me. Hopefully they win tomorrow and win the league too.
I'd hazard a guess that most people wanting a City win on here are UK based and who appreciate just how sickening Liverpool winning the league would be.
If a Utd player could pass it to Aguero for a last minute assist for the winning goal that would be even sweeter. Gerrard still has plenty of unpaid karma debt left outstanding.”
