Well now the bloke who thought he was in the same class as Falcao has gone, he might. (And I'd question not just the judgement, but the actual sanity of anyone who seriously claimed that.)

Must have been lost in translation. I think AVB meant that Defoe is as good a striker as Nick Faldo.

That was a pretty mental thing to say. Even if you're just trying to boost the guy's confidence, at least keep it within the bounds of reality. As you say, Mark Falco would be a more realistic benchmark to aim for.

We haven't sank low enough to be too disappointed.
We still have a good shout for top 4 this season.
We have the squad depth for the gruelling xmas period where big teams drop points.
We just need a rebound...it's not a big deal. been there done that.
