What changes can Ramos make?

With Levy stating that player purchases is a committee decision and the fact that more than 20 million was "invested" in the future, is Ramos going to have the freedom to buy the players that he needs. Our best manager in 20 years was unable to achieve what the board required without a leader in defense or midfield. What changes can Ramos make? Will he be able to bring in a top class midfielder that will captain the side and dictate the play? Will he get top class cover/replacement for King? Will he be able to get Berbatov playing again? Can he make headless kids defend?

If he do same kind of changes to us what Benitez did for Pool, then I'm more than happy as he may have skills to get us to top 4

building a wall by 7 Defenders .. at least, some people would stop blaming Defence for every goal !

Rather than necessarily racing out to buy . maybe juande can start to get better performances from the players he has available...

...it'd be hard to get worse ones its true..

Without signing anyone I would expect him to give more shape and more definitive roles to our midfield (maybe the biggest weakness in jol's tactics). It appears Ramos likes to play with two wide men, so I fully expect us to play with Lennon and Bale at the same time and try and stretch the play. No more 4 CM midfields and over conjested, ultimately confusing roles for the midfield.

Then I expect him to drill the midfield in the basics of closing down and hustling the opponents and winning the first or the second or the third ball. This was a pattern Sevilla developed under Ramos. They always tried to give opponents as little time on the ball as possible in midfield and would work incredibly hard to break it up before springing a lightning fast counter, usually involving some great passing moves. Whether we have the right midfielders to do this or not, I am sure we will find out by January. If not I expect him to bring in players who can.

Finally I would expect him to push our defence about 10 yards further forward and not allow them to sit back and invite pressure. The defence will start to attack the ball and win it earlier and higher up the pitch.

These changes can be made quickly and effectively we will play with a more dynamic style, which hopefully should suit our players. I think the key is to not just wait and let things happen to us, but to try to control the game with our style and I would imagine this is what Ramos will try to drive into the players as soon as possible.

1) Make team fitter
2) Get new goalie
3) try one of the following as DM; Kaboul, Tainio, Ledders
4) sell prima-donnas

I wonder how good his English is?

Confidence is the main factor I hope he can bring. Obviously he only has this squad t work with for the next 15 games or so so new signings should not be considered.

The 5 main points I would like/expect him to address)

I hope he chooses his best 2 strikers and sticks with them for the next few games.

I hope he gets the body fat monitors on robinson and huddlestone and orders them to shift at least a stone before they can even think about getting back into the team

I hope he spends extra time with lee, chimbonda and lennon in practising how to cross a ball

I hope he grabs Jenas by the balls (okay maybe not by the balls as he may enjoy that too much) and tell him enough is enough. You show me you deserve to be my number 1 midfielder or your out. Enough if this average performances

I hope he works on their fitness

I'm thinking about it today by using Chimbonda/Lennon & Ekotto/Bale .. as he do with sevilla, but the interesting things could be CB & CM .. Does Jenas in his plans ? Where he he could use Kaboul ? Are Taarabt and Boateng in his plans ?

that's interesting .. and we should wait until our next league game .. not against Blackbool !

I would think Blackpool would be a perfect game to start trying his new plans. At least we would have a game to ease us into a new structure and new roles. As for the two combinations you have suggested, I wouldn't be at all surprised. I can imagine us attacking all out down the wings, but he will have to get us very strong and disciplined in the centre.

Another point is that Sevilla had great movement up top when they played lase season, so I would expect him to drill that into our front boys too. We should be very dynamic.

Since Ekotto isn't as good as Lee, and is also permanently injured, I don't see this happening any time soon.

Wait? Are you crazy?

its not a matter of buying new players, firsdt we need to start to get the best of the players we have who are all under performing.
