I think there’ll be a release of pressure that will see us play win and play well. That and West Ham’s reserve keeper is awful.

Cue goalkeeping wonder class this weekend!

Get the first goal and everything else will hopefully fall into place. We know it won’t be an easy game though that’s for sure. They’d love to heap the pressure on us and Mourinho by beating us.

Fun fact:
  • Jose Mourinho has lost his last two matches versus Manuel Pellegrini, with his sides conceding six goals.
Lol

Cant wait for this hopefully we blow them away but just want us to win and build on that. I see Lanzini is also ruled out for them which is a bonus.

I hope both Mourinho and our players are absolutely desperate to get going and completely destroy wet spam in the process.

Bit of a weird one in that, if we batter them, it will prove that our players had just been downing tools under Pochettino.

I remember when Chelsea did that in their final season under (ironically) Mourinho and I absolutely hated their players for throwing a manager under the bus like that. Will be a bit gutting to have it finally confirmed that our squad are no better.

Having said that, we move on and I hope we dick them 3/4 nil and keep this positivity and momentum.

Listening to Sports Bar last they had pod reps from each club (Theo from Spurs Show).

On being asked their chances, he said it was a game they always turn up to, then sounded delighted in saying they were the first to beat us at our new shiny stadium (as opposed to a shit heap) and derailed our title bid. But later on when Theo said it was their cup final his reaction claimed it wasn't!

The funniest thing the Spammer said was the conspiracy theory that Alvin Martin's GK son wasnt bought with the intention of ever playing any games because he's worse than Roberto :)

Is this the first west ham game where we're more fired up than them

Feckin right. We have one of the best managers in the world. Bring it on.

Tonight I am moshing with Feeder at the Roundhouse and then up early for a mosh at the Spammers gaff. I got a feeling we are going to spank them. COYS

I don't think it's ever "downing tools" in the sense of sulking and throwing a wilful strop. That's a bit stereotyped, I reckon. Football is a game of split-seconds and centimetres. If some of the players are distracted and have off-the-pitch resentments flitting through their minds, they won't have their full concentration. That's when chances get missed, goalkeepers drop crosses, defensive positioning goes astray and midfielders get caught in possession. It's unconscious.

What positivity and momentum? Fans on SC in the past 2 days getting all excited about Mourinho? None of that affects the players or the result. It's just supporters getting each other excited by fantasising about what might be achievable.

It's not a home match and we have no influence. There is no other positivity and momentum, unless the entire squad has magically fallen in love with Jose after one day of training.

Too early for me, so I hope to wake at a more reasonable time and find out that we have dicked that lot good and proper. I relish beating them more than any other team in the PL
