It's an odd game, not one thing nor t'other. Early on, there was a lot of very stylish and focused midfield play from Lo Celso, Alli and Lamela, but it all went nowhere in particular, because Watford were very organised and we couldn't get any shots off.

Then Watford gradually started to boss the game, but they couldn't take advantage of our increasingly twitchy defence.

Both teams are playing an attacking game, except early on when Watford packed the box, but there have been very few chances.

I thought our midfield would be the area we would struggle, but it's been the only part of the pitch where we have outplayed them. Go figure.

At least we got to half time without conceding the first goal. It's been awhile...

I thought we play well. Not sure on the negativity? At least now we are playing with a midfield and some wanted a target man to receive those hoof balls? ??‍♂️ Can we make up our mind?

But there was 1 second later after his touch? There were people running into the box there. So you can repeat it all you want if that makes you feel better.

I will do for sure, if the same remarks are made.

There are seven or eight Watford players in the box and we have Lucas and we have Son of which Lucas is the only one who can perhaps head it.

:) x

We have the team out everyone wanted amd we still don't score. There's a lot of attacking players out there. About time son actually did something

Aurier was brilliant there, last man and winning a header against two Watford players.
Agreed but that just highlights the problem, cos most of what he’s done in the rest of the match has been below par & when beaten tends to jog back rather than run at speed.

Christ that was like watching paint dry. We look more solid but offensively we're toothless. Son, Alli (barring the run/through ball for Moura) and Lamela have been anonymous.
I disagree - we’ve actually looked quite good going forward, just lacking an end product. I think Dele has been pretty good, Son and Moura both lively.

My thoughts so far:

Tanganga is not a fullback
We really need a DM, why aren’t we linked with one? Winks is absolutely not a DM
We need a Striker, no one is in the box. Parrott should’ve been on the bench
Lamela has been quiet today
I really feel no DM and a left back that's not a left back is causing us stability problems. No striker as well doesn't help our attack.

There is a massive lack of cohesion. The togetherness that was so evident in the early Poch years is completely missing

Just seen the replay and that’s 100% penalty for us early on. Infuriating....

Mourinho is starting to settle things down. Every game spurs look more cohesive. Still a lot of work to do, but it's starting to gel, certainly in comparison to the shit show he took over. I thought we were the better side, still look vulnerable against a counter and a touch clueless upfront, but getting there.

It's gonna take time. If it was a matter of selecting your best XI in a sensible formation, nearly any of us could be manager. Right now we're not working as a team, too much of what we have is stale, and we don't have a striker.
