Anyone got any hot tips on where I'd like to go to see Spurs in Manchester for the matches I won't be able to get to?

Depends where you are but Friendship Inn in Fallowfield is a good place because it is a student area and there will be more Spurs fans there then anywhere else in manchester.

Woop. I just came back from the Friendship Inn, after watching the Liverpool and Birmingham matches. It's a 2 min walk, so I guess that'll be where I'll be going.

I posted a similar thread when I moved up here in July '09 mate.

Best places I've found are either the Lass O'Gowrie (landlord is a poster on here) on Charles Street, just off Oxford Road behind the BBC; very friendly pub, loads of screens, reasonable prices and never any loutish behaviour. All footie fans seem to co-exist peacefully in there - definitely my #1 footballing haunt.

The other I occasionally frequent is Joshua Brooks next door, on the corner of Princess Street, opposite the Ibis - again, landlords are Yiddos and you get a decent crowd in there - I was there for Spurs vs Chelsea this season and nearly everyone there was a Yid. Again, none of the drunken louts in football shirts who you'd find in places like Deansgate/Quay Street Walkabout, or Yates on Portland Street.

General rule of thumb - avoid Deansgate for football. Although if you're in Fallowfield then I doubt you'd venture all that way anyway!

Good luck finding somewhere mate, give us a shout if you're going to watch any of the matches soon, I'm usually there.

Thanks freeki! I'll give Friendship Inn a go against Fulham this weekend, but I'll give you a shout if I'm trying one of your suggestion for another match.

manic: I'm in Oak House, 1 Moseley Road! Only been here one day, so I know nothing at all about the area :) Will you be joining me in Friendship Inn on Sunday then?

I tend not to venture to Fallowfield because it's full of students!

Where are you studying, ERO?

Yeah, just till the summer. All to get closer to Spurs really. Wanted to go London, but my school didn't have an exchange program with LSE, so Manchester was closest, and not at all a bad base for Spurs compared to what I'm used to.

Yeah, they all say so, so I hope they're all right. I'll give my judgement in a few months time

There do seem to be a large amount of us around Manchester to be honest.

The two venues I listed seem to have the highest concentration of Spurs fans from the places I've been to but I know there are many others - I've just not been.

I was in Oak House 2 years ago Ero, I now live on Whitby Road, behind the big Sainsburys. I'll probably be in Friendship Inn, Orange Grove (opposite Sainsburys) or the Cheshire Cat (opposite Oak House - they have 3D) for the Fulham game. I'll be EXTREMELY hungover/on a comedown and in a VDV shirt :)

Bloody students. Shouldn't you be out smashing up the Town Hall or something?
