Should have given him a run out earlier.Bringing on Richie at this point seems like another strange decision in a season full of strange decisions by Ange

If we play 442 we only need Bissouma and Bentancur in midfield. If Sarr is actually injured then we are laughably fucked. I mean he's in appalling form but we genuinely can't even put a midfield out
As Amorim said it’s either rhythm or rest . They went with the former , us with the latter. I think he got it right and Ange got it wrong. We are going into a European Final with half a team who haven’t played for 2 weeks. They may be rested but they will have lost their rhythm.Wrong sort of preparation for the final.
I dont care how injured the squad is, way our form been - we have to keep playing the strong XI as much as possible. Sure, if there is a injury doubt rest them.
Manchester United are doing it the right way.
I am sure others would have different take on this. For me, I would have played the strongest XI and tested them atleast for 60-70 minutes. If they lost so be it, it would toughen them for next week.
We haven’t had rhythm since Man CityAs Amorim said it’s either rhythm or eat. They went with the former , us with the latter. I think he got it right and Ange got it wrong. You really can’t see the wood for the trees can you? Will be a good day if it leads to Chelsea finishing 6th.
Spot onWhat about form then ? Form doesnt matter ?
Tactical setup and working on a plan for the final doesnt matter ?
From what I see, United are sharpening their tools, with the personnel and we are sitting on our arse hoping all will click on the day it matters.
Disagree about Moore. He was asked to play a much more defensive role supporting Spence against Maatsen. It was a very disciplined performance in an unfamiliar role.Well of the two teenagers I think Archie Gray showed well in midfield, as calm and collect as we've come to expect from him and Mikey Moore struggled to make an impression.
Of the two 20 year olds Mathys Tel works hard and just keeps running, great attitude but still having to come to terms with the Premier league and Wilson Odobert is beginning to impress me, I'm hoping to see a proper good player next season.
For God’s sake stop this bullshit about injuries. You can get injured getting out of bed! Bergvall got injured in training. Any one of them could get injured in the first few minutes on Wednesday because they’ve lost a bit of match sharpness.. It comes with the territory of being a professional footballer. Regardless of the game you should play your best team not keep wrapping them in cotton wool for some future game. Bah humbugBrainless take is a bit rude isn’t it?
And so if Ange had played our best XI we’d let’s say drawn 1-1 and VDV and Romero or Solanke had gone off injured completely further sabotaging our chances next week then what would people be saying…
Keep being angry, BobThe moment we start accepting losses, we've already lost. What kind of mentality is that? You don’t build a winning culture by picking and choosing when to try. You fight for every single game, no exceptions. This idea that we can afford to switch off, save ourselves, or treat failure like it’s part of some grand plan? Absolute bullshit. Winners show up every time. If you’re not trying to win, you’ve got no business being out there.
Apart from Fernandez none of their team is better than ours. Their CBs lack pace as does their midfield. Garnacho blows hot and cold and their CFs are all gash.Uniteds defence is trash
Our forwards minus a 10 are better
Their midfield plus 10 is better
Watched him pass under pressure?Disagree. He’s been very good tonight putting in 2 or 3 great blocks. A very solid defender but people ain’t going to rate him because he ain’t a big name with a big fee.
So in essence you believe we'll lose because of injuries to key players.I think they are much worse than us, but think they will find a way to win ugly and have 1 or 2 bigger moments than us. The loss of Deki, Madders and Bergvall kills our MF creativity so much that we will really struggle - remember our wingers are fairly poor in isolation...
Thier best player is a creative influence ours is probably......VDV?
Indeed but I stand by my assessment.Disagree about Moore. He was asked to play a much more defensive role supporting Spence against Maatsen. It was a very disciplined performance in an unfamiliar role.
if there is anything to it (I agree there isn't this season) United will be in a worse place as it was their first team that lost last night , more players affected than usAll the rhythm vs rest stuff isn't needed. We'll either show up and have a purposeful, high energy performance, or we won't. Not a whole lot in the lead up for both teams that'll predict or contribute to that.
Likewise, mentality on the night will either be go out and win vs try not to lose.
The villa team selection has little to do with it, given we've progressed thru the EL while losing all season.
We'll find out whether these losers have one big game left in them.
Rhythm and lose! They haven't scored in either game. Way to build confidence!!! I'm happy we preserved our players by not exposing them to this game. Look how we lost Kulu against Palace, where's his fucking rhythm now?As Amorim said it’s either rhythm or rest . They went with the former , us with the latter. I think he got it right and Ange got it wrong. We are going into a European Final with half a team who haven’t played for 2 weeks. They may be rested but they will have lost their rhythm.
And the rhythm method doesn't bastard work anyway! Ask me dad!We haven’t had rhythm since Man City
Something I've noticed in particular among the sea of shit that is our football is that we're absolutely woeful at throw-ins. If there was a stat for "the average time it takes for a team to lose possession from their own throw-in" or "the number of times a team loses possession within 5 seconds from their own throw-in", I'm sure we'd be the worst by far. We’re so bad, we lost possession from a throw-in at some point in the three seconds in which the director cut to their manager.
It was Gray not doing his job that contributed to their second goal. Thought Moore playing in that strange role did ok, certainly not making best use of his skill set.Disagree about Moore. He was asked to play a much more defensive role supporting Spence against Maatsen. It was a very disciplined performance in an unfamiliar role.
That's always been true, I've been complaining about it for years and years. Always wondered why no one ever seems to have addressed it.Something I've noticed in particular among the sea of shit that is our football is that we're absolutely woeful at throw-ins.
