Ange Postecoglou doesn’t expect to have any of our injured players back for Sunday’s FA Cup tie at Aston Villa, with Richarlison the latest to pick up a problem.

Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Guglielmo Vicario, Radu Dragusin, Destiny Udogie, James Maddison, Wilson Odobert, Timo Werner, Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson all remain sidelined, while striker Dane Scarlett is cup-tied – much like he was on Thursday night in the Carabao Cup – after playing in the FA Cup for Oxford United during his loan spell there.

I’ve never known Spurs have so many first team players out for so long at the same time, nothing is going to get better until they return.

And now Richarlison is out, again.

But it's all the fault of the manager and/or owner (depending who you ask), while if a "big" club hits bad form with less than half the number of injuries they're just "unlucky" or dealing with an "unprecedented injury crisis that they couldn't possibly have planned for (e.g. Liverpool in 2020-21, when they put up the weakest ever PL title defence and got 30 pts fewer than in the previous season, but were barely criticised for the bizarre decision to start the season with only 2 senior CBs after getting rid of Lovren).
