Nothing particularly interesting but my mate bumped into JV in welcome break after the arsenal game, had a quick chat with him, said he was really annoyed with how the game turned out, was annoyed with Ade but he had apologised to everyone.

Not a lot else really but when told he was the best player on the park for spurs was very nice about that and said he is really enjoying his time with us.

I feel sorry for him tbh, he's traded a good strong Ajax for us, in a bad state (at the moment) and to kick him when he's down, been shunted out to LB to fill in.
I'm sure when people are fit and hopefully signed up, things will improve, but at the moment he must be wondering whats hit him.

He was excellent. Along with Sandro.
Once we've Kaboul or Caulker beside him at CB and Lloris behind him we'll see a much more solid backline.

He has been good but I think he was at fault for at least one of the goals maybe two the last one he just passed it to one of their players.

Funny because he looked cream crackered against City too - perhaps you're right - rest him against Lazio - we wont win the Europa, we're simply not good enough, so rest him.

Just like to add that Lloris didnt give me any kind of confidence against Arsenal. He could have saved 2 or 3 of those goals.
1 acrobatic save in 90 minutes, no particular authority of his box, a few worrying lunges at crosses and a lack of effort to make some routine saves.

Just saying....

I appreciate that he wants to play in the centre of defence, but he is an international left back.

Full backs tend to get knackered quicker and more easily and at the pace of the league we play in, I'm not surprised that he seems a bit jaded. International games are at a much slower pace. :)

One could argue he's been shunted out to LB at international level to accommodate the plethora of quality CB's Belgium currently have.

He is class and we are lucky to have him. Ade should bloody have to grovel!! We were dominating them until he got sent off.

Lloris is the future, but I am a firm believer that he should not be automatic starter ahead of Brad on reputation as France's nr1, thought he could have done a little better at times, but he will need games. What I don't want to see is AVB chopping and changing constantly and if Lloris is now the Nr1 for EPL games then don't want to see Brad straight back in just because Lloris wasn't top drawer on Saturday, needs a run.

That's exactly what I saw at the Euros and on some of his youtube compilations before we signed him - a great shot stopper who doesn't command his area and is prone to some questionable decision making. While I agree Villas Boas has made a bollock up of the transition from Friedel to Lloris, I'm not sure I understand the hysteria over him, or believe that as some have said, he's "a far superior keeper" to Friedel.

He's done diddly squat in a Spurs shirt in his games that have made me believe he's the messiah and will go on to be our Peter Schmeichael.
This may and probably will change but I dont quite get the hype.

In the second half, Lloris was lightening quick off his line to nullify various attacks, if it wasn't him in goal on Saturday I genuinely fear that Arsenal could have 'Wiganed' us.

Whilst I rate the guy, he seems to be immune to criticism amongst a lot of people on here. I thought he was pretty shit on Saturday, if truth be told he was just as bad (if not worse) as Gallas.

Only because thay have no one else to play there, he is one of the best CB's around and we need to get him back into his best posistion asap.

Loved what I saw from him at CB. That's where he belongs, and once BAE returns, where he will stay.

His day would have gone a lot better without complete liabilities in defense straddling him on both sides.

Verts is a good player but not the ultimate defender.

If anything he doesn't like defending.

Sometimes lazy getting back after getting forward too.

But still a good player.
