well shit. Texas is stuck with Tom Herman for a while because he has about 24 million left on his contract. I had high hopes for him but 37 games in now and its clear the coaches are still making dumb mistakes.

you LSU fans who wanted him as much as Texas did dodged a bullet.

Dodged the Herman bullet. Dodged the Jimbo Fisher bullet. Dodged the Lane Kiffin bullet. We're Neo in the Matrix. Thank God for Joe Alleva and his incompetence at hiring head coaches.

I’ve never seen a coach earn anything more than Coach O earned the LSU job. He deserved that after succeeding as interim at USC and LSU. Was a bad move for USC to pass him up for Sarkisian. But probably for the best. He’s a perfect fit for LSU.

I am not sure what happened at half of the Penn State game but Michigan is just unrecognizable since then. The offense is clicking, the defense is doing its job. Shea’s been great. Really turned the season around. Hope it continues for 2 more weeks.

Edit: Turns out i cant spell at 2am when im drunk. Who knew

Football’s 28-3 leads are footy’s 2-0 leads. Just a bad omen at this point

Baylor were punching above their weight. It was bound to catch up with them. Hell, Id give Texas 50-50 odds to go in and beat them next week, and we arent very good.

Tua got injured today against Mississippi State and has a suspected fractured hip.

Real shame. Kid was a special talent and seemed a genuine hard worker without much ego.

Injury is pretty nasty, same sort that ended Bo Jackson's career (the big issue being Jackson developing a avascular necrosis from the injury) . Granted 20 years of advancements have been made but it isn't a common sports injury (it is more frequently seen in heavy impact car accidents) so who knows how he will recover.

Sounds like they are flying him into Houston for the surgery, which makes me guess ( @fortworthspur may know better) he is being sent to Houston Methodist or Memorial Hermann. Both are pretty highly regarded hospitals (i had a niece and nephew born at Memorial Hermann) so hopefully they have a surgeon who can get him squared away.

One bright spot, children in Africa are about to receive free Tank for Tua t-shirts.

So is it going to be....
  • Blow for Burrow
  • Fold for Fromm
  • Lurch for Love
  • Enfeeble for Eason
or
  • Suck for Herbert?
Will be interesting to see what happens with Tua. The injury may have knocked him out of the top 5 conversation but depending on the success of the surgery he may be worth taking a gamble on if you are say.....Green Bay, New England, or New Orleans.

I think the Dolphins will still take him with our top pick if the surgery goes well. He can sit for a year behind Fitzpatrick and it will give us another year to build team for him.

If you are the Dolphins and willing to let him sit for a year.....then just use the pick on someone who can make an impact and try to set yourself up for Trevor Lawerence next year.

Fins have too many issues to not take immediate impact players

No guarantee that we will get a high enough draft pick for Lawrence next year. I mean, we're trying to be as bad as we can and there's still two teams with worse records. A lot of draft early draft picks and 100m+ cap space to spend this off-season should mean we won't be this bad again next year.

If you are the Fins spending a top 5 pick on a player that you aren't sure about being able to play for a year is a wasted pick. Depending on how the other teams pick you still would have a shot at most of the QBs at #3. Even with all that money you need to make improvements now and Tua isn't going to do that for you next year.

If i am the Fins and i hit at #3 i actually probably look to take Herbert or Burrow if they are there and if the Bengals and Broncos somehow jump ahead of you and Burrow/Herbert are gone....i would happily settle for Chase Young.

Be it Herbert/Burrow or Chase (or the LT from Georgia, CB from Ohio State etc) you are still probably going to be mid 1st in performance in 2021 draft but you will have multiple 1st round picks....so if you take one of the QBs you give him a shot at winning out for a year and build around him. If you take the lineman or the defensive players you go into 2021 and look to ship a few of your bounty of picks to move up and take Lawerence.

I actually expect the Fins will end up with Herbert/Burrow and then grab a WR (looks a historically deep draft for WR depth) for them with the Texans pick .

I really don't want Herbert, especially not with a first round pick. The people I follow on twitter aren't big fans of him.

I guess it depends on what happens and where they're picking, but I expect Burrow and Young to be the first two picks now. I don't really know a lot about any of the other star players to say if they'll be too good to pass on.

We'll obviously hear more about Tua's health by the time the draft comes a long to make a more informed decision. I'd rather gamble on his health and pair him with the other 4 1st round and 4 second round picks in the next two years than use a lot of those picks to have to move up for Lawrence. Someone will take a shot on Tua in the first round if the surgery goes well. Could you imagine us passing on him two or three times, only for him to end up on The Patriots?

WR is about the only position where we have decent players. We should be addressing DL and OL before we do anything.

Just to give me some comfort - if Oregon had made it to the playoffs would they have been completely destroyed?

Probably. If a 6-5 ASU are throwing 400+ yds and 3 TDs against you what would LSU, Clemson and Oklahoma do to you.

I can’t believe my Vols are going to a bowl game after starting the season 0-2. When we lost to GA State and BYU, I wrote this season and Pruitt off. I’m now pleasantly surprised.

Harbaugh just needs more time at Michigan, said the people of Columbus.

Jim Harbaugh stays finding new ways to get shit pumped by OSU. What a horrible coach.

To be fair, not only does he keep getting out coached by OSU he also is consistently getting out-recruited by them.

Look at that team today, i don't think there was a single player on the Michigan team you could point to and say "that guy is the best in the conference" at any position.. OSU had multiple players who were clear cut best in conference and 2 guys on defense (Young and Odukah) who you could argue are the best player at their position in the country. There is an absolutely gulf in talent between the two teams.

What you saw was a moderately talented team getting worked over by an exceptionally talented team more or less what you have every weekend of Big Ten football with Ohio State for the past few years.

What i saw today was a horribly coached team making amateur mistake after amateur mistake. That falls on the HC. The offense isnt the issue with Michigan. Nor is it the defense(although Brown has got to go). It’s Harbaugh.

Coach Pete stepping down at Washington. Completely out of left field.

Local reporters apparently saying it is to "re-charge" and that he is staying on as an advisory role to the program.

Interesting that he is 55 years old....same age Dan Hawkins (who first hired Petersen) stepped away from Colorado, Kubiak walked away from the Broncos, Stoops walked away from OU and Urban walked from OSU.
