Good to see the Goodyear Blimp make into the College Football Hall of Fame as a honorary member.

For the first time in a long time, I cried tear of sorrow and laughter at the same time watching that video. As I’ve been saying for the past 10 years, next year will be better.
I feel your pain.

Fuck me the officials in the Kansas-Oklahoma game are terrible. Last time I checked “After the play, late hit out of bounds” required for the play to be over and for the runner to be out of bounds.

Big 12 refs in general. the inconsistency in college FB kills me - especially with personal fouls.

South Carolina is dangerously close to joining UNC on my 2019 shit list

Edit: The coaching in the final minute and OT of this game has been so dumb. Kirby and Muschamp seem to be experiencing brain farts simultaneously.

Not entirely sure what happened at half time against Penn State but this offense has beem firing the last 6 quarters. To beat a top 10 team in that fashion. Im pleased. For the first time in a while, i am pleased by this Michigan team. Absolutely shit pumped Notre Dame. Hope this continues. Seasons over but we can still play spoiler.

So LSU knock off Bama.

Credit to Ed Orgeron he did what i was beginning to think no one would ever do in Baton Rouge, he modernized the offence.

Feels like i have watched 20 years of LSU teams and they all had the same make up.....
  • a secondary full of high draft picks
  • linebackers who all seemed the same and would spend the next 5 years in the NFL as solid but unspectacular players
  • a defensive line full of freakish athletes who would get drafted day 1 but have hit or miss NFL careers
  • , an offensive line that seemed solid (and would inevitably have 2 guys in the NFL just starting for 10 years with zero fanfare),
  • 12 running backs who were all talented but each only seemed to do 1 thing (seemed like they had a RB only for 3rd&12 and one for outside runs on 2nd&13)
  • a TE/FB/H-Back who was a "fan-favorite" and was never seemingly used correctly
  • a group of staggeringly talented WR who would spend 90% of the game blocking
  • a dogshit QB
They would then line up in a I-formation and play smash mouth football and if they got behind maybe....MAYBE....you would see one of those talented WR catch a deep ball.

Now they run a functional, modern offense and everything seems to be clicking.

Also....watching Tua and Joe Burrow...Tua has a undeniably good arm, he is pinpoint accurate and moves well, seems to make good decisions and seems completely unrattled under pressure.

Joe Burrow...i don't think he has a great arm but he makes great throws, i don't think he is terribly accurate but he seems to put the ball where it needs to be, i don't think he is a great athlete but he moves well, i can't say he makes the right choice everytime but it somehow works out and he seems on the verge of screaming under pressure.

That said...I would love Burrow as my QB. Just seems like the type of guy who will do anything to win.

Great post but I disagree with the description of Burrow as not being terribly accurate. He's currently on pace for becoming the most accurate passer in a single season of college football since 1956.

How can anyone not love Coach O? Guys a national treasure. Love him. Went BIG on Minnesota ML and LSU ML yesterday. Minnesota was so easy after Penn State snuck into the top 4. They always disappoint and lose a few conference games so I was riding the Gophers all the way. LSU was difficult but I had to ride them. That offense is wildly good this year.

What i mean on the accuracy is when you watch the games (granted i haven't watched a ton of Burrow this year aside the big games) is that you see Herbert and Tua make throws that make you go "Wow, how did he put that ball there?", throws that are just pure examples of talent and hand eye coordination. The ball has zip, is in a tiny window where only their receiver has a chance at it and is fitted between defenders.

Now Burrow can make these throws but it doesn't seem like he makes them often, maybe it is the scheme, maybe it is his receivers (who are fucking good), maybe he is reading the game just that well that he is making the throw before it gets to the point where he has to make the "wow" throw.

I have watched Herbert a fair amount and he makes the "wow" throws but i also think he has a bit of Matt Stafford in him where he is going to just whip the ball at 150 mph no matter what which is just as detrimental as being inaccurate.

Tua can make every throw on the field. He is exceptionally polished, He looks the real deal.

But, Burrow seems like he is a real leader type of QB. Trent Dilfer (for all his flaws as a QB and commentator) calls them "dudes", that a QB walks in and players can see "Oh, he's the dude"....Burrow has that. That intangible measurable.

So when you rank the QBs around the country and the ones that could be in this draft....Tua looks the real deal, Herbert looks like he is the nearly fictional QB that will have all the measurable traits at the combine. Fromm, Eason and Jordan Love each look like they will have strong suits that move them up in people's views.....but Burrow looks like the type of guy that you would be happy to have as a leader even if he doesn't have the measurables that the others may have.

well shit. Texas is stuck with Tom Herman for a while because he has about 24 million left on his contract. I had high hopes for him but 37 games in now and its clear the coaches are still making dumb mistakes.

you LSU fans who wanted him as much as Texas did dodged a bullet.
