Considering the amount of money spent this window is anyone else slightly underwhelmed???

Maybe im being unrealistic but defoe and keane back??? did it work the first time?

No sneaky surprising harry Loans!

Youre right, you are being unrealistic, we've spent money well on positions that needed adressing, and have brought proven Prem players, which dont come cheap.

two we already let go who didnt particularly get on, a keeper that has hardly played in years, a 1 year wonder at wigan! (has it even been a year)?

Palacios I am glad about even tho its too much money for him. But I still think we needed a CB much more than a frickin RB, and how many years have we needed a genuine left wing?

More than happy tbh.

Great signings and on the most part, good business.

I'm happy with the dealings we have done. Some people make me laugh. They think its like fantasy football just pick the player get a deal done and that's that. Not that simple.

Harry has purposefully brought in players that know the league and that can definitely do a job for us which at the moment is to stay in the league.

We cannot attract the top players at this moment as we are in the poo poo in the league and not qualifying for the Champions League year after year.

We need continuity in all areas in the club. So i say lets leave Harry and Levy to it and get behind the club.

Defoe
Cudicini
Palacios
Keane
Chimbonda

That's a pretty good catch for one month!

going backwards as far as I'm concerned. chimbonda and keane and to a certain extent defoe. Cudacini is no more than a stop gap. Palacios was a good signing but once again we have failed to address the left side!

You do remember last transfer window don't you mate?
We've put right as much as you can reallistically do in January.
If I was a Citeh fan I'd be seriously underwhelmed.

Not underwhelmed, more like worried, but i've done that in another thread.

Full credit to Levy, he's backed Harry's gambled to the hilt. Now we just have to see if it pays off.

I think we did as well as we could, when you think we may go down players would be taking a big chance coming to us

I am not sure about City De Jong, Bridge and Bellamy I think are decent enough signings.

If your convinced the signings made are enough to dig us out of this hole I hope your right. :(

so whats the formation for this relegation escaping team then?

Jimmy C I guess your right with that but I was hoping for something out of the ordinary a little loan beauty ;-)

Given the prescence and spending power or Man City, we have done well. Veloso or Santa Cruz would have made it a stunning window , but we have come out of it stronger than we were on Jan 1 by a long way

No sneaky surprising harry Loans!

I'm pretty sure we would've seen a couple of sneaky Arry loan deals, but Levy et al, probably diverted all their attention to the Keano deal.

The Quaresma deal was initially supposed to have been a loan deal (a Harry one i'm sure), but then there was talk of a swap with Bentley or Jenas, and then with everyone working on Keano, Chelsea sneaked in and grabbed him!!

With regards to signing another CB, you have to remember, if Chimbo is picked to play RB, it means Corluka can step in at CB (his preferred position i believe), so we now have 4 CB's (counting King ofcourse!).

I guess we're always going to be underwhelmed when we don't see solutions for the positions we think definitely need filling ie LB, LW, DM!! But Ekotto is getting better, Palacios i reckon could play DM, CM or even AM! and Lennon and Bale can do a job LW, i'm sure!!

Bottom line - we're stronger than at the beginning of the window!!

I am concerned. To have one of keane/Defoe back is fair enough, we needed goal scorers and these 2 fit the bill but not both of them.We already know they cant play together and in the past when they were around Bent did not fit either. So now we have all 3 again when we know they cant play together and Pav instead of Berbs. At least with Berbs he could actual play with anyone and make them look good.

We signed a RB when we needed a CB.A RB who left after throwing a strop - not too dis similar to that of Ghaly who was not given another lookin.Hmmm.If Arry is thinking that Corluka can play CB then fair enough - but why did he not start the other day?? We concede goals from set pieces and Chimb is not gonna help in that department for sure.

We signed a CM and apparently the right kind, but I could not comment further.I have not seen him often.

We have again failed to sign someone for LM.Nzogbia has gone to Wigan?! Why have we not gone for him?? Bale (if he comes back to life) is an attacking LB and not a LM imo.Compare the 2 and I would have Charles over our Gary all the time.Ricardo has gone to Chelsea!

I honestly think we could have done better

Not really underwhelmed however do wonder if we have actually improved the squad in the last year! Unless we sign Carrick & Berbatov I dont want us to sign anymore of our former players!

no

would have liked another loan target man striker but pretty happy with what we have done

You're...happy?!! :eek:mg: I think I see Satan shovelling the snow off my driveway as we speak...

Seriously though, I agree a target man would have been helpful & some balance on the left flank wouldn't go amiss but other than that we've done okay. And at least signing back our old boys means they'll gel pretty quickly...

More gutted. We are going nowhere as a club. We might have ensured we stay up this season but we've similarly put our development back for next season and beyond by such a short termist approach.

I'm delighted with this window, we have made some excellent signings. I'm sure once most of you sit and rationally think about all that can be done in a 30 day window you'll be happy, but I have an incling your not happy because we didn't buy anyone with a fancy name.

Not sure how I feel anymore, I would say considering my options. I just had a go at my dad for forcing me to support Spurs when I was a kid, it's all messed up, maybe it's just my anger clouding my judgement tonight.
