If you look at the bottom of the table it has a footer saying "* Player List B", which to me implies this is the entire squad including the (non-existent) B-List. Have we really not registered Moore and Lankshear on the B-List?

A weird call on Spence.

He's gonna get feck all minutes this season anyway in the PL, very strange leaving him out.

Honestly at this point I would prefer to see Austin on the team sheet than Forster. The decision on Spence is puzzling, not so much because we don't have sufficient cover without him, but because if we aren't going to use him in the Europa what was the point of keeping him?

WTF has gone on there? The GK and defender choices/numbers seem moronic. Hopefully we get through the league stage and can address it somewhat in Jan.

If we can't trust Austin for the odd europa game then the priority for a back up keeper is essential

Just two more defenders than goalkeepers registered. If that doesn't set alarm bells off then I don't know what does
I think they're already aware of this which is why the academy has been getting stronger. Trouble is it takes a few years for players to become club trained so we're listing 2 keepers who fall under that category for now.

Isn't the point that we need club trained players and we sold Kane and Skipp since we last were in Europe. We've named 2 keepers to fill that requirement but we don't intend to use them as neither is good enough. That's why we picked Forster , not over Spence per se. We need to look at it that we've listed 2 poor keepers just to satisfy the club trained quota, no more no less.

For centre back we have Phillips, Vuskovic and Dorrington who could possibly be first team mainstays at some point in the future, but at fullback we don't have much coming through the academy at all besides possibly Leo Black for RB, and he's not a starter for the 21s yet, so if we're relying on our youngsters to fill future full back spots then, at the moment, it's not looking good.

I mean in general not full back. We need better club trained players in future. That's why we have picked 2 poor keepers just to fill the requirement.

Shite squad building regardless

If the reports of Gray seeing himself as a DM/CM are true, Playing Porro, twice a week isn't the answer. It makes less sense when you have a LB and RB not on the squad but we could have not picked Forster instead.

Even more annoying as VDV is a bit delicate, Udogie coming back off an injury and we have just Davies to cover the two positions

Then we JUST LOANED OUT DEVINE who we could have registered instead one of the keepers. Whilst giving Maddison some time off who is also a bit fragile.

Genuinely in all the years as a Tottenham fan, no one has realised this one fact. The season is fought in March, April and May.

Meanwhile we have had players/managers fighting hard in the early months missing out in the latter.

Absolutely we do, our academy became shite the longer John McDermott was in charge, he was too stuck in the old ways of giving academy players peanuts and dangle the carrot in front of them to make them work for more money, which is admirable but in today's football with the money involved it just doesn't work, it lead to us not attracting good enough players to the academy and losing the good ones we did have to clubs offering considerable amount more money.

Losing both Amo-Ameyaw and Meghoma to Southampton was the final straw and when Fab came in he started the restructure, and as ITK said he was shocked at how little our academy wage budget was.

It's been a slow rebuilding of the academy, but our U21s being so dominant last season was the start of what we can produce, and while it won't be like that every year, we showed we can produce good players if the controls and ambition are right.

Had to pick Austin & Whitman for min 2 club trained players I believe but yea agree we don’t need 4 gks so Spence over Forster would’ve made sense

He sees and club sees the same in long term, but he played practically whole of last season as right back, he can feature there on Europa League and feature more on midfield elsewhere.

Then we JUST LOANED OUT DEVINE who we could have registered instead one of the keepers. Whilst giving Maddison some time off who is also a bit fragile.
Devine is club trained and probably on top of that even eligible for b list. He wouldn't have taken anyones place. We have more than enought on midfield and upper branch positions, it's defence that is lacking and only problem is picking Forster ahead of Spence.

We seem to have forgotten Max Robson who can play left back. He was 21 last year so cannot be on the B list. He could have been on the A list as club trained. More chance of playing than Whiteman.
