All my Rangers pals are expecting an absolute shellacking. They are not particularly good right now in relative terms to say how they were under Gerrard/during their European run. Having said that Ibrox will be absolutely rocking on the night, atmosphere will be tremendous and they have beaten some great European teams there in not too distant times

Teams 9-16 will be seeded in the play-off round, with teams 17-24 unseeded. When the winners of those 8 ties reach the last 16, teams 1-8 will be seeded. This means finishing as high up the league table as possible is definitely in a team's best interest.
Think I read the seeded ones also play home 2nd

So that means the fixtures go:

Brentford (H)
Qarabag (H)
Man Utd (A)
Ferencvaros (A)
Brighton (A)
West Ham (H)
AZ Alkmar (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Galatasary (A)
Ipswich (H)
Man City (A)
Roma (H)
Fulham (H)
Chelsea (H)
Rangers (A)
Southampton (A)
Everton (A)
Hoffenheim (A)
Leicester (H)
Elfsborg (H)
Brentford (A)

That away trip to Ferencvaros looks like a bit of a banana skin given its sandwiched between trips to Old Trafford and the Amex. Will be a tough one playing the strongest team in the league stage a few days after what's probably our hardest game of the season in the Premier League too

That is a solid set of fixtures to start to our EL campaign. We should really dominate and put those first 3 teams to the sword.
Even got a favourable last fixture should any slip ups occur. On paper we should be looking at 20+ points but the game is never played on paper I suppose.

I will not miss the seemingly interminable waits between games we had at times last season.

Europa Lge squad list A has to be submitted by Wed 4 Sep 12mn.
List B the day before each game . Can change 3 players in List A after end of league phase and before Feb 6.
Should be interesting as some regular squad menbers are probably going to be left out because of lack of club trained players.
Birdvall, Gray, Odobert would have to be classed as non HG as they have not been with us for 2 years.
List B will be under 21 players.
Having checked what we now have in the squad, looks like poss 2 x HG players will miss out. Would think it’s 2 from 3, Forster, Davies and Spence. Other 3 are Solanke, Johnson and Maddison. Don’t see them being left out.
Bit of a gamble leaving out Forster as the only backup then is Austin who has never played a competitive game for us .
Austin and Whiteman are our only club trained,

AZ
Galatasary
Roma
Rangers

some really decent European nights there and the others will be interesting too

Love spurs in Europe.

Would absolutely love for us to win this, I don’t for a minute think that we will but I feel like the Europa League is our kind of clubs trophy, we used to be very good in the old version of this in the 80’s etc, when I think of spurs I think a flare team who entertain and can come top 6 in the league and one who have glory cup nights in the FA Cup and UEFA Cup, well at least we used to be like that at least.

Come on Ange top6, FA Cup Semi and win us the EL.

Not sure where to post but as it regards arguably our toughest fixture i'll pop it in here. Some reports that Galatasary are in talks with Napoli to sign Osimhen on loan, great stuff...not lol
