I'm a huge critic of Southgate but fuck me, does he deserve some respect. I still would like him to do things differently and don't understand some of the decisions he's made but right now, eating some humble pie doesn't feel too out of order.

Congrats to England. Cheering for you lot in the final to get the monkey off of Harry's back and so that SC is once again an idyllic place.

Id of kept 3 at the back and swapped tripps for Shaw, but i think he was trying to get Saka higher up the pitch.

Regardless though, there was less space to operate in and some tired legs after good efforts from the first half.

Ive been critical of Southgate, very in fact, but tonight he did better...
And no coincidence it was England's best performance by a distance.
You can’t attribute us being shit from minute 45-80 to tired legs, especially when it’s a pattern we’ve seen millions of times before. He sent the team out to be more passive and defensive in the second half and it made no sense.

Maybe it's my rose tinted spurs glasses but Kane hasn't looked right this whole tournament. I know he's never been the best pressing player in the world but he looks very leggy, possibly age catching up with him.

Bellingham tonight though was awful, I thought I was maybe being overly harsh so watched him mainly in that second half and he walked around the pitch most of that half and even had the nerve to point and shout at others as to where they should be and press. The odd occasion he got back and did some defending, he just walked back to his position. Really frustrating and he should have made way instead if Foden who I thought played quite well and really tried to get involved and make a difference.

I'm glad Southgate had the balls though to bring off 2 big names in Kane and Foden, even if I think it should have been Kane and Jude, big names or not if they're not performing get them off and get fresh legs on who look like they give a fuck.

Best performance by far this tournament . We actually went out and tried to win the game m. We made changes at good times and 2 of substitutes got the goal. Got it right putting on Watkins instead of Toney because he knew with the Dutch pressing there was space for him to run in behind and so proved, fruitfully.
We were very good in the first half Saka was causing them problems on the right and Tripper was getting in good positions on the left but was hampered by not having a left foot. Ironically when he brought on left footed Shaw for Trippier at HT we just did not get him in the same good positions as Trippier had done in the first half. To make it worse we never got the ball out to Saka in the second half so we stagnated a bit in that second half until them late substitutes.
At last a performance we can be proud of.

Not sure there was much point bringing on Watkins if we're just going to continue playing walking football. The Dutch are now doing what we did in the first half and moving at speed
That’s why he brought on Watkins instead of Toney; because his game is running in behind.

That was the Saka cut back wasn’t it, which he done really well with however even my youngest lad said why didn’t he look up.
All well and good putting a ball in the box but if you’re just playing a hit & hope ball chances are no one will be on the end of it.
Just felt like another opportunity for everyone, including the pundits, to have a pop at you know who
Exactly. Even if a player just uses his peripheral vision to see where the movement is he can pick players out.

It's a bit of both, crossing player should be familiar with the attacking players and know where they'll be. At the same time, attackers must pick up on the wingers crosses.

All of that should be worked on.

Either Saka is just playing it without looking and hoping or Kane isn't picking up on Saka's actions.

However, the general consensus is always the attackers fault for not being there.
