I’m certain it’s down to coaching, I don’t think they’ve done enough to develop any chemistry or understanding.

It's like when you get one of those match ups in 5 a side when your team has ball players but no runners. You don't really get anywhere.

Southgate's coaching has always been defensively focused, the attackers have freedom to roam almost as they please.

That doesn't work in this modern era.
