There isn't one and IMO that's the best redeeming quality this format has.I don't understand what the benefit is for being in pot 1 in this new system

Couldn't they have made it 7 games (instead of 8) and you only face 1 team within your pot?I don't understand what the benefit is for being in pot 1 in this new system
But that would mean less monies, and a large part of the point of the format change is to get more games between the biggest teams as early as possible.Couldn't they have made it 7 games (instead of 8) and you only face 1 team within your pot?

yeah that's what I was thinking as well, it would make the most sense.Couldn't they have made it 7 games (instead of 8) and you only face 1 team within your pot?
It's *possible* that rumours of the Super League played a part, but this format was confirmed long before the Super League went public. The only change since then is actually a reduction in the number of matches - 10 instead of 8 had originally been proposed (and, I think, will happen in 2027 or 2030)Sure but the primary reason for the change was the aftermath of the Super League situation and wanting to have CL matchweeks with two big sides playing. The Pot 1 sides playing each other are the feature of this not a bug.
You'd have complaints about some teams getting an extra home game etc.Couldn't they have made it 7 games (instead of 8) and you only face 1 team within your pot?
Isn’t this what the super league was intended for? It's *possible* that rumours of the Super League played a part, but this format was confirmed long before the Super League went public. Super League did have more games, but the closed shop with no qualification from domestic leagues nor any relegation was a much more notable "feature"Isn’t this what the super league was intended for?
seems a tad confusing, suspect it will be a nightmare for the lesser clubs to navigate (smaller squads) with more games to be played.
I like it!
Yeah hear ya dude, I like this new format though, probably a good opportunity not being in it this year to see how it all plays out, work on our qualification etcSuper League did have more games, but the closed shop with no qualification from domestic leagues nor any relegation was a much more notable "feature"
Europa is just the sameYeah hear ya dude, I like this new format though, probably a good opportunity not being in it this year to see how it all plays out, work on our qualification etc
