I don't think that's true at all. Everton were really sitting back and we couldn't find a way though so Hudd - who can pick a good, clever, accurate pass - made sense to bring on. I'd have kept Mousa on and made the swap for Parker but I think anyone slagging off Hudd based on today needs an eye test.

Also? Fans booing at WHL at our subs? I'm so ashamed of you, get out.:(

I agree completely. I thought Demebele looked knackered and was starting to get caught on the ball. I was sceptical about Hudd but he sprayed the ball around, gave us some width and caused them problems because of it.

the team looked beautiful balanced with that 4:3:3

just remove the stunningly shit clint dempsey for Bale and we might have something. Assuming they can put in shifts like that on a regular basis.

holtby, sigg, walker, dembele, parker,Ade and vertonghen all very good in posession

Wots going on with walker. Seriously. Worked hard today but his petulance is starting to piss me off. Gesturing to his teammate in the first half, bloody stupid fouls in dangerous positions like in the last few seconds or higher up the field when he should stand his ground.
Ade did well and put in a real good shift. Glad it work out ok for AVB but pulling dembele off when Dempsey was nowhere bar his hopeful efforts made no sense.
Have a look at verts for their second. His lack of awareness cost us dearly.

Lads showed passion and I'm glad we got the point.

We can't play Dempsey against Man City! I like him and he was important for us earlier in the season but at the minute he isn't playing well at all. Huddlestone or Carroll should play if Bale & Lennon are still out. Relieved to get the equaliser!

Not going to lie best I've seen us play all season at times today. Very pleased with our performance, result not too much but we can take a lot of positives for this. If Ade and Gylfi carry on this form we can win most of our remaining fixtures with Lennon and Bale back.

Best you've seen us play? Walker made two runs all game and every other time he cut back or passed inside. We are far too narrow without Bale and Lennon and we needed width against a tight defence. Walker proved that more runs to the byline are beneficial, his only one resulted in a goal! His pace is his best attribute but he didn't make the right choices today.

We were in control in the second half and there was no real need to make changes. Also we didn't have any player on the bench who would of came on and turned it around. I don't think AVB done anything wrong personally.

We were losing....

Usually that's not "in control."

He loses concentration as the worst moments.

I don't think we need a new RB, just needs to be given time, comes down to experience.

That foul at the end there was absolutely brainless, it's moments like those which needs to be coached out of him.

It's just his character, will be very hard to change imo.

If we had a dribbler (on the right) we could have forced the issue a lot more.

Bale and Lennon aren't good dribblers, Lennon used to be when he Moniz was here.

Vertonghen/Parker/Caulker all shocking for that 2nd goal, really have no idea what they were doing Caulker got turned inside out. Parker and Verts having a siesta

And in form Arsenal just two points behind with a game in hand.
I think Arsenal have to face Everton next? With Fellaini back? For a 'post Thursday' match, with two attackers out injured, this is a pretty good result all told. Ade and Sigs getting better... itr's all part of the masterplan.

I thought we were actually really good. Two shit bits of pressing in front of the defence cost us. They won that first corner because Holtby and Dembele(?) got caught in no mans land, didn't press or cover, and opened it right up for them to attack the box. The second goal Parker and someone else got in the way of each other and should have cleaned the ball out before the attack even started.

Today shows the big thing in our game though. Mentality and intent. We go a goal down and we play with intent because we're forced to attack the goal. The high tempo passing starts to show up because, with team all driving forward, you can trust players to make the run without evening having to look at them. You know the player will make the run and you know the ball will get played. Too often this season it's felt like the players haven't known what to do with themselves; attack? Defend? Bit of both. No one's sure where their team mates are or where they're going. If I press will they come with me? When we're going for goals there's so much more trust and understanding in the side. That's why we've thrown away so many leads, because when we score we don't know how to play it and lose our attacking intent. For some reason that desire to smash a side has disappeared, it's like the players don't enjoy dicking on a team. How many times have we won by more than a goal or two this year? We certainly had the ability and opportunity to slaughter a couple of teams this year

Ceballos is the only dribbler we had on the bench, unproven yes, still lightweight yes, but get him on the ball and he might have made something happen.

Disappointed that AVB took so long with the subs and also think he made the wrong sub in taking of Dembele, credit to Hudd he done well but Dembele is more likely to do something in the final 3rd.

Good point considering we were behind but we needed the win. Chelsea winning now so it looks like the top 4 will be officially out our hands by the end of today
