Some noise that Staveley wants Howe to succeed Ange if she gets through the door.

Wouldn't surprise me tbh as she clearly loved him in the Newcastle documentary.
Important clarification that wanting Howe to succeed Ange doesn't necessarily mean a radical change happening this season, or even in the summer.

Why would Howe leave them for us at this moment in time anyway?

I'd personally be a bit gutted if we ended up ditching Ange to bring in Howe due to an investment in the club. I like Howe and think he is a decent manager by the way, but still wouldn't be happy if this is what happened.

If we are talking Qatari money then is this QSI as a proxy?

Can't be ol' AI generated Sheikh Jassim surely?!

Do you really think any investor is going to put their money in just to help finance a hotel? Especially Middle East? They want more than that. I would expect their investment is more along the lines of sporting reasons. They are very competitive.
If it pays for the Hotel, flats and Good Yards development a lot of that money will be converted to profit that can be invested into the first team.
I suspect we would also keep the hotel which would create another revenue stream.

I'm fairly sure FFP rules now pretty much stop investors just putting money directly in so this could to be a good 'back door' way of doing it.

I like Howe, but I would have had him down as England boss sooner or later.

Interesting times ahead though it seems.

Chelsea owners have just put in £190 million to keep the wolves from the door so that isnt exactly true. However, I might be wrong in how that is refected in the accounts for FFP.

Could also be why we aren’t as vocal about City as others. We weren’t named by the press as one of the clubs helping the PL last week.

The press are pretty useless a lot of the time and shouldn't be relied on for all information, the respondent are the PL.

Well looking at what happened with City's court case last week, that is starting to look like an option no longer on the table. There is talk that interest free loans like this will now have to be measured differently and taken into account as far as FFP is concerned.
Well thats just typical shut it all down as soon as Spurs get a sugar daddy :cautious:

I expect if the numbers being talked about are true 700mil for 12.5% they would be buying a % of everything.

We don't really need a sugar dady as revenue levels at the club are very good and increasing most years, what we need is to release the handbrake a little on wages .
Figures from Deloitte, Liverpool are a well run club and are happy to pay big wages, their wage/revenue ratio is 63% , their last wage bill was £372 million, our ratio is 46% and our last wage bill £251 million, if we operated at the same ratio as Liverpool our wage bill would be £345 million, bigger wages hopefully means better players but not always just look at Man U.

Deloitte wage ratios are worked out on the total wage bill not just the 1st team squad wage.

@SirHarryHotspur is right on this. The days of pumping money in overnight are long gone, but any decent investment should be used to allow us to take the next step in terms of attracting/paying more.

Ugh - no interest in the club eventually becoming nothing more than a sportswashing vehicle. Hope the ITK is false or it falls through, personally.

Very close now. Have to be careful with what I say. But exciting times. They have different views on who they see can lead us in n the pitch
Thx for the info, but I have a hard time believing that an investor would 1) Be demanding or requesting a coaching change so quickly, without taking time to fully get to know the club from the inside, and the impact the current manager is having on the field and off. Like any major investment, they will do in-house due diligence before demanding or suggesting a change of that magnitude 2) Simply put, that sort of conversation would be kept within a very small circle of trust. How the hell did it get out?

Meaning if you know it… then so does Ange. As would most of the players and coaching staff. Weird they’d let that cat out the bag, for nearly everyone sort of close to the decision makers would be made aware. Which would then have a destabilizing effect. So, if they have indeed let slip their difference of opinion, then either Levy’s people are dumb AF, or they are. Either way, it’s terrible optics and the worse first impression they could possibly make. Fucking odd.

Surely we aren't going to ditch Ange at this point. I hope not at least, I would quite like to see how he would do with some proper backing. Ether way as much as I do quite like him I really do not see Eddie Howe as being the right man to lead us to the promise land so I hope those rumours aren't true.

Not going to get into Q&A’s. But because I may be privy to some things, it does not need to bode a question if managers, players know. There is more to a lot of things than what is shared here. No investor is going to spunk hundreds of millions for the sake of it, with no input. If you choose to be sceptical then fair enough.

who knows. And as this is not the thread to discuss Ange, I won’t do that. But investors come in with their own input and reasoning. We will find out soon enough.
