Jerry Jones has a College Football background and it is well known how much he is hands on with the Cowboys. Prior to his purchase of the team, they were fucking great to watch...Staubach, Drew Pearson, Anthony Dorsett, and my personal fave, Golden Richards (how can you fail with a name like that?).
How much he would be involved in a Futbol club...who knows...
He acquired a team known as America's Team...so it's no amazing feat to turn a successful franchise into a more successful franchise. The trouble is, he's done it without Super Bowl wins.
My issue with Jones is, he likes to be a larger than life character. We don't need an owner to be the story in the news constantly. We need a quiet, dedicated owner capable of putting a winning football management team in place. So far, Jones has failed to prove he can do that.

That’s from the 90s and tbh the coach Jimmy Johnson architected that whole dynasty and did what is known as “the trade”, got rid of one of the best running backs of all time for a plethora of picks which he then build that dynasty out of. Once everyone started writing that it was jimmy and Jerry as being the reason for the success Jerry fired him so he could prove it was him. They haven’t won since….

You're right...I'm an old forgetful idiot and stand corrected...lol. Thanks.
In my defense, I wasn't following the Cowboys as much in that Troy Aikman era...I jumped ship after Coach Landry left (and yes I am a glory hunter when watching NFL...Cowboys to Raiders to Patriots).
But as posted above, Jimmy Johnson was key to that winning period.
But...even though they may have won 3 Bowls...they didn't have Hollywood Henderson...

As an American I instantly cringe reading the links but to be completely honest without the details I can't really make a judgement.

- people will dig up things he's said in the past. He's kind of a sleeze
- he has flexed his muscle financially
- he is extremely involved with both the cowboys and the NFL. He has to be given credit for helping grow the league

If he has a good team around him and signs the checks then I don't see how most can get upset about him. However I see how instant reactions are around him being very involved. It's hard not to see signs of boehly in him (although look at Chelsea now.. that noise has simmered a bit).

I still can't imagine Levy not being involved but we shall see

I wasn't thinking about relocation. Which team would relocate?...the teams and cities all make far too much money to make it worth even thinking about.
I'm thinking that some owners and, possibly the league, are thinking about growing the game overseas.
What shape those plans take, I have no idea...new teams, new leagues...chearleading schools...

Arsenal spent 100m on a player. We are never ever in those conversations let alone buying one of them. Until we buy proven quality players we won't be improving quickly and I we very rarely do that. There is 25 years of evidence to back that up.

It's not a regular occurrence though is it, their wage bill dropped £32 Million before that happened. Every top class player at some point in their career was Cheap. High transfers fees and wages don't win trophies. Top class scouting and coaching do.

No, high transfer fees and high wages plus good coaching and scouting win trophies. City and Liverpool as examples. Brighton are probably the best at scouting, they won’t be winning the league. Our issue is wages, we don’t pay that of elites so we don’t attract elite players. There is only so much picking up gems and getting innovative managers can do.
