Would you welcome a 25% ownership stake in Spurs for Qatar Sports Investment (QSI)?

hate to see it, but you have seen what a difference it made with Newcastle.

Just take it as an investment, I am pretty sure there is much dirtier money in the world, blood diamonds, cobalt, etc.

Full take over would be difficult, and would require a different ownership group - due to their current ownership of PSG.

Similarly, I doubt this is about Levy's shares. That would be a conversation driven by Lewis and his family. I suspect they would have a say in who could buy shares of ENIC, and he does not strike me as someone who would welcome a new minority investor to replace his right-hand man.

I wouldn't "welcome it", but I can't see it changing the way I support the club in any way all the same. If there was a third vote option I would say I'm Neutral.

For me - the most benefit to Spurs is probably something along the lines of:

£1B equity for 25% stake in ENIC - maybe £700M paid to Lewis/Levy, £300M used by club

£800M - 20-year stadium naming rights - £40M/year - a little over-valued, but within the realm of possibilities.

Development contract to build/manage hotel, and development of surrounding real estate.


They cannot buy a majority interest, but this is enough of a stake that they will want to see Spurs be successful, and the additional revenue should allow that to happen.

Difficult one.
Wouldn't really want full ownership but maybe I can get behind this.
The club needs something and sadly, it's not likely to come from anywhere else than the middle East.
If it makes us competitive and stops us falling behind, I suppose I could get used to it.

Let's face it, it's not like I could stop supporting Spurs whatever happens.

Clubs who win things? Don’t get me wrong I love the fact we have a ‘soul’ but we are not doing anything in terms of achievement by continuing on this route. Unlike the others we have a history so we wouldn’t lose our ‘souls’ by having a cash injection to keep up with the big boys

I want to see us to win trophies in my lifetime. 1 trophy of worth in 1991 isn't what I envisaged after all these years. Although I remember the muted elation of winning the Worthington cup or carling cup or whatever it was then.

I want us competing and the only way nowadays os to be financially doped. The game has changed we can't be stuck in the past....

Remember when we signed Gazza for like £6 million .... it was a record back then....I'm sure other clubs felt we ruining football by doing that.

So we need to progress with the times...that shiny stadium isn't enough to compete with the big teams on players and wages. We need serious financial backing....

Newcastle will overtake us this season. We then behind City, Liverpool, United, Chelsea, Newcastle and scrapping it with Arsenal for the odd 4th place appearance.

Would I welcome it, no. Would I accept it, yes. I want success, it just makes me a hypocrite which I'm not so happy about.

I don't understand why some wouldn't think we could contribute more and how the club wouldn't engage in more beneficial community/social/environmental/humanitarian/or whatever you call it charitable acts if we are even richer and more influential if we grow even bigger and more recognisable - which all these could only be possible if we are splashed across the news and media that Tottenham Hotspur has won this has won that and has signed this World class player and that.

We couldn't do so many things at once and still think we could have some immediate success on the field. That period of time has passed and shouldn't be in the wait again if we have the chance not to.

Decades without wining anything. Levy has made us waited for DECADES, holding us back times and again. I mean I appreciate the stadium was the consideration then, the training ground was the consideration then, the hospitality and accommodation were the considerations then. 20 plus years later, we have realised all these, is the success on the field finally be a consideration next? How many more years do we honestly think we could continue this balancing act in Levy's balance sheet? I really think think it wouldn't happen under Levy at all. Not backing Poch, sacked Poch, signed Mourinho, sacked Mourinho, signed Conte and now hamstringing him.. He won't change.

I have said before the easiest solution now is money, yet Levy is so reluctant to spend it. I am perfectly fine for Levy stewardship if we got no such fancy stadium and training facilities and most importantly no Conte. But with all these already at helm, the final piece of the puzzle when in placed will set us flying in all fronts - perhaps not immediately, but definitely sooner than later.

I know the above sound simplistic to some, but complications dragged us so many times, seen especially in transfer windows when we wasted so much time on targets and lost them.

My wife's nephew 3 years ago when he was 10 suddenly became a big City fan because he adores KDB. But most importantly he knew them as winners. Last year WC my sister and nephew who know nuts about PSG could tell me how great they are because of Messi and Mbappe. They knew Perisic because of Modric because of Real Madrid. They love Kane and Lloris, but neither were because of association with Spurs... It wouldn't surprise me for any neutrals to want players like Kane and Lloris to be at bigger clubs just so they can win things and be more prominent. And by big, I really meant clubs who have won truly great prizes. The sad truth is we are so small in terms of trophies trophy we have won in this past two decades..

Say we do get the money in do people think that will guarantee success? Things have moved on from when Roman bought Chelsea. Now there are city, Newcastle, man utd, pool are still huge, Chelsea are huge & still spending and even arsenal are spending huge amounts so us joining that guarantees very little other than the inflation impact on fees for top players.

I understand the "we'll get left behind" argument but look at pool for what can happen with a manager who is properly backed & a well thought out structure at the club. Look at arsenal this season which shows that to compete you don't need that sort of investor.

Just so depressing that people would gladly take that money & ignore all the other aspects.
And don't kid yourself with the "yea but all billionaires money is tainted" that's a weak argument. Like saying all criminals are equal because they're criminals, absolutely not. Some are much worse than others and Qatar are right up there with the worst.

Don't think that club needs more money, just someone ambitious who will spend more and invest in better scouting, youth recruitment etc. We can spend 400m this transfer window and be within FFP rules. Hope we end up becoming like Liverpool or United before Glazers, not like City/Chelsea etc.
