Appears so. Eccleshare was also Arsenal as a boy but that didn't stop him from being a superb Spurs writer for the best part of a decade.

That's why I like VFTL.

Its refreshing to hear both sides (Kelly & Maw are spurs fans, Pitt-Brooke & Harris coming with a neutral view). Its well balanced.

Danny Kelly can be a bit shouty at times but I put that down to passion for the club.

Jay Harris is actually a gooner so i'm not sure how neutral he is...

But in general I agree with you. Anything is better than LWOS tbh.

My primary ones are VFTL and TFC but the Tottenham Way is good for quick post-match reaction. Generally only listen to LWOS after a win but don’t know who anyone is. Is Russ Williams the pompous one?

Edit: Hang on, maybe I’m thinking of Echoes of Glory? There’s one with a kinda self-important sounding guy who can be annoying.

yeah he is quite pompous and really annoying but you’re probably thinking of TJ something or other who is an actor living in LA. Thinks he’s some kind of wordsmith but generally talks a load of shite.

I’ve only just recently started listening to VFTL (mid point of last season) and really enjoy it. TFC has always been my favourite but I can give or take it depending who’s on. Not sure about Echoes or glory as never listened to it but I think the one you are talking about is Russ Williams.

Havent heard any hint of gooner bias in his views so far.
Tbh that's because he isn't bias. Sure JPB is a city fan but is still a great listen after city games. The lads aren't stupid, this is their work and most admit that when working in the industry you cant be a fan the way you used to be.
Jay is no Charlie but he's v good and definitely isn't bias

The stuff on TFC about the “singing zone” was very interesting and important. Are we discussing this somewhere?

I have really liked jay harris since he came on board. You can tell he is watching and thinking about everything . He’s thrown himself in and I think he has done the impossible in replacing the brilliant Eccleshare.

I can’t listen to LWOS, it’s the tabloid version of a podcast. But I like the Tottenham Aay. A heads up for others. Dan Kilpatrick is now going to be doing The Lab every other week with Flav. I caught the first one and it was good. The lab is actually worth a follow. Its quality can vary a bit but I don’t mind it as an attempt from Flav at a more serious podcast.

Isn’t Echoes of glory the one where that bloke started labelling the anti Enic protest as a bunch of yobs? I saw that clip and immediately knew I’d never listen to an episode.

agree with all of this.

On my podcast feed there is one podcast called Echoes of Glory that I've never listened to and then there is one called An Echo of Glory that is quality. I don't know about the anti Enic protest name calling but would be quite surprised if it was someone from the latter pod

VFTL pretty down on Ange. Hard to disagree with much of what they say. Worth a listen

That was a long time ago and was taken totally out of context.

We're a great pod... have brilliant guests - Robinson, Hazard, Edman have all been on, two former Ange players, Carragher twice... what more do you want!

Oh, and it's An Echo of Glory :)

I mentioned in the Levy thread but worth repeating here.

I thought this weeks episode of the fighting Cock was brilliant. Really really good, especially from Jon Bass who encapsulated perfectly why people turn on the manager so quickly and did an exercise to show why we should stick with Ange.

It’s the perfect balance between anger, passion and reflection.

Also, they become friends with all the other Spurs beat journos, people who work at the club in the media department, get to know the players and staff a bit. Of course you are gonna start to root for people you spend so much time with.

Listening to VFTL and I've said it before on here that I think Danny had given up on Ange along time ago and judging by this episode he isn't trying to hide it at all now

Was looking forward to hearing this later, particularly JPB's view if he's on.

LWOS was very downbeat - not even shouty nonsense, just a sense of futility which has been the general sentiment across social media it would seem.

I don't mind Danny but for someone who has worked in football as a journalist and broadcaster for a long time he is very reactionary. I think he is great as a host and foil for the working journalists on the show but I barely pay much attention to his own views.

Yea I like Danny alot. Think his passion is something that sets him apart from alot of hosts. He's clever in that he does play up to it at times aswell.
I certainly don't agree with all his opinions but do like listening to them

He’s a fan, I like that. We have jpb and jay harris for impartial reporting. I like Danny’s passion and James’s insight.

So I gave this a listen last night.

it was ok, I liked the memories of the Wimbledon games , stuff that had totally gone from my memory.

But the fella and I apologise if this was you that was defending daniel levy like he was a close relative and slaughtering Ange whilst continuously saying he backed him out me right off.

You can’t possibly talk about the state of the club right now whilst saying you don’t want to talk about levy, which I believe he did before defending him , and then the snide comments to people leaving you comments on YouTube. The conversation was incredibly negative and it made me laugh because you guys got uptight about that comment and claimed you want Ange to succeed but let me tell you after the assassination job a couple of you did (I’m sorry as the voices are all new I can’t tell the difference from memory 12 hours later) I’m almost convinced it’s Ange out for me. So fair play. I definitely agreed about in game intelligence. We’re so naive.

I’ll give it a few more listens for a fair shot.

He’s great on there - says it how it is and clearly loves Spurs. I used to work with his brother (staunch gooner) and so I totally get why it means so much to him!
