I'd like to think that Ndombele's re-emergence will have shelved any plans/thoughts we had about needing an additional creative midfielder.

I know you’ve vastly increased your attacking options in the last few months but would you like to go back to relying on one man who decides he needed a new challenge not so long ago?

Nah, I’m good thanks.

3 weeks ago I would probably say what have we got to lose... but now looking at our midfield and attacking options I think that ship has sailed, unless Inter foot his entire wage bill and pay up the remaining fees they owe us

It's not just about adding another to an already bloated squad. It's the 200k a week he'd want. I really like CE but he had his time, lost his motivation, went on the cheap, and possibly regrets it now. Let him be an example for our current stars. Players just don't have the luxury of switching off and expecting the club to wait. There's too much at stake, we've moved on (credit to José).

Wrong type of nostalgia. Get Rafa and Scotty on the blower, tell 'em we're getting the band back together...

If we had been offered this in jan, then for all his loss of form, we'd have jumped at a year's extension.

OK, we have ndom and lo celso coming into form, but both seem to get quite a few injuries and realistically we'll have a creative midfield of winks and sissoko for many games this season.

I want to win the league this season and we'll really kick ourselves if a club like leicester do it again.
We ran Eriksen into the ground and he has deserved his year's holiday. If he can prove himself fit and motivated, then it would be hard to say no to a player who knows his way around, is premiership hardened and is one of our best players in recent years.

If the story is just made up, then as you were.

Everything surrounding Eriksen makes me think of the saying "The grass isn't always greener on the other side" and if the various reports over the last month or 2 with him being open to a return, does make me wonder if now regrets leaving the club.

The Amazon "All or nothing" clearly shows Levy saying we will pay him what he wants but he was honest and made it clear he wanted a new challenge. I see this so often in the workplace, people think they deserve a better role, they're growing stagnant, not enough opportunities, etc., so decide to leave but on leaving, some regret it and try to find a way to come back. Maybe this is the scenario Eriksen is in.

And also, as per previous comment, I agree that we have a solid squad that should really be fighting on all fronts now and with the results going how they have, losing out to a Leicester or Everton will be a big blow so if Eriksen was to come in and compete with Lo Celso and N'Dombele, I wouldn;t be against it...assuming he gives 100% and shows he wants to be back

I dont think he did anything wrong. It was clear that he needed a new challenge and perhaps experience a new culture etc. I dont think that we should lambast him for that, it clearly wasnt a financial decision because we would have matched anything.

Unfortunately it seems that it wasnt a Conte decision coupled with Covid etc it has just been a shit 10 months.

Youre right the grass isnt always greener but i dont think he went there because he thought the grass is greener but moreso a new challenge.

In Denmark the media argue that Christian Eriksen’s motivation for football dropped after he became a father. That was around the World Cup in Russia.

to be honest I actually think there’s some truth in that.

I know what you're saying mate. But he did the unforgivable thing of downing tools. He could not be arsed in the final 12 months. He was shit.

That said, if he was to improve us as a team I'd have him back. However, given our business this window I just don't think he improves us. A month ago yes. Now, with our attacking power, Tanguy looking really good and Holjbjerg absolutely dominating with his performance yesterday, I wouldn't want him.

Everyone seems very committed at the moment. The last thing I want to see is Eriksen pussying out of 70/30 challenges in our favour.

I think we've solved the puzzle of lack of creativity in the team
