I see your points, mate. There´s always two sides (or more) to a debate. I don´t think you´ve convinced me to do a full U-turn on my stand, but I think you make very valid points which deserves credit.
Rating the OP with a Dislike is harsh though and he is only providing information.

The quote regarding Arsenal is a very very fair one. People just don't like the truth when it hurts something they love. You think he shouldn't say something like that because he owes us his loyalty, but I can tell you 100%, loyalty and respect for long term senior employee's is not something shown by the club, and hasn't been for years.

Ex players and staff (unless they still work for the club) regardless of how long they worked for the club really struggle to get tickets and are in quite a few cases told even if they are lucky enough to get tickets, they have to pay. I genuinely don't know of any other club that does this to long serving ex senior staff members and players. For instance he'd walk back into Kenilworth Road any time he liked with a fanfare despite working for Luton for a much much shorter time.
This is so sad. And this is the issue I am concerned about.

I totally "understand" the business. I totally understand contract law and clauses that gives exclusive rights (or monopoly).

But this is a fotball club. This is our football club. It´s my football club since childhood. A football club is much more than just a "business". For those who don´t understand that, well ... I don´t understand why they support any club at all. They could just as well support IBM or Apple.

It is 100% possible to run a successful business and STILL have a sheen of decency. It´s about having an internal moral compass. And our current owners and executive management I´m afraid are severely lacking in that departement.

One thing I do know for a fact; it would be easy to hire someone to deal with communications in a way that at least give the club a sheen of decency. There are an amassing amount of examples where the club/Levy do their thing, and have to run back and undo it because of bad press. It´s OK to be Mr Scrooge, but at least be smart enough to hire some communications advisor to help you look better and do the smart things now and then. It´s actually good for business.

The thumbs down is a neutral reaction. I don´t dislike Mawspurs as a person - I dislike the news itself.

These times ...

We´re more concerned about policing eachother´s post here than we are of the lack of decency by our own club.
The thumbs down is a negative reaction and the ratings system is about rating the person’s post, not the news they share.

And believe me, I’m just as concerned about policing lack of decency by the club as I stated in original response and also in the David Pleat thread. :)

I stand corrected! I genuinely thought the dislike was neutral. My bad. I have removed the reaction now - changed it to the neutral "informative" one.

Cheers, mate.

That doesn´t make any sense. Everytime any shop takes in goods to sell, they will get a percentage of the sales they do of those goods.
Correct, and do you agree that a reason for a shop NOT to carry a book, is because they don't get a percentage of the sales? That certainly seems to be the case here.
